I have fallen in love again!

I have fallen in love with an idea.

I am watching President Clinton speaking at the funeral of Coretta Scott King.

I am watching him hold the crowd in the palm of his hand.

I am watching him speaking without once referring to notes or prompters.

I am watching him make gentle jokes that are genuinely funny.

I am watching him stand before our current president and two other presidents and showing them how it is done!

I am watching a man who broke my heart make it whole again.

I am watching the only man that I can think of who could repair everything that George W. Bush has destroyed.

I imagine how the world would respond if he was our president once again.

Would the Iranians stop their nuclear aspirations for a moment and listen to what he had to say?

Would the terrorists turn up their television and listen to see if this man could take their hate away?

Would our European allies rejoice that the man who treated them with respect and honesty was back in the White House?

Would the poor and downtrodden in this country suddenly have their hope restored?

I think the answer to all of those questions is yes. I think that Bill Clinton can bring our country back from the brink and make it whole. I am not a man of faith. But I have faith in him.

No don't bother telling me what I already know. It can never be. He cannot run for a third term. He cannot restore our country. I know all of that.

But like the great Martin Luther King Jr. said, "I have a dream".

Just a dream.
