Welcome to another edition of "As the Silla Turns" in which Ivy Frye jumps ship, we learn the Palins are never leaving Alaska, and Todd gets pissy with reporters.

From the New York Times:

Sarah Palin’s big new life is remarkable for its smallness. She is as remote as she is overexposed. Even as she travels the country stirring up Tea Party apostles, poking at opponents and building a robust bank account through speaking fees, book royalties and television contracts, she comes home to one of the more unlikely launching pads in politics — and she apparently will not be pulling up stakes anytime soon.

“Where else would we go?” Mr. Palin said. “Alaska is our home.”

(That wasn't always the plan though.  No that was NOT always the plan.)

Things have changed, of course. Ms. Palin is often away, sometimes joined by her husband and some combination of their five children. Her father, Chuck Heath, who lives in town, said in a recent interview that he had not seen her in a month. While people say that Piper might turn up at Wasilla Bible Church with a cousin and that her parents attend community basketball games, sightings are far less frequent than they were when Ms. Palin was governor and friends from high school bumped into her at the Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Ms. Palin’s inner circle has contracted in recent months, with some of her closest longtime Alaska aides — including Meghan Stapleton, a spokeswoman, and Ivy Frye, who helped research her book, “Going Rogue” — departing. Rumors of family discord still rumble across the Internet. Reports have tried to pin down Ms. Palin’s accumulation of wealth ($12 million?) since she resigned as governor. Yet virtually no one who might know the truth appears willing to talk publicly. (Ain't THAT the truth!)Family members are certainly wary.

Damn I missed this new revelation about Ivy Frye!  I had heard that there was somebody in the inner circle who was close to having a nervous breakdown and I figured it had to be either Meg Stapleton, or Ivy Frye, but now with both of them fleeing the scene of the crimes I am still not sure which one it was that was losing her grip.

Boy I certainly hope that somebody offers Frye a book deal, the woman surely knows about all of the Palin skeletons, and within which closets they are hidden.

Jesus! Get a load of how tightly wound Tawd is lately.

“Are you the guy who’s been writing all that crap about us?” Mr. Palin barked at an approaching reporter.

A few moments later, less testy, he seemed amused at the soap opera of it all, grinning, eyes wide, as he feigned curiosity. “Have you talked to Levi?” He lingered on the long vowels in the first name of Levi Johnston, his grandson’s father, whose relations with the family have been strained.

I think Mr. Palin has turned into a particularly nasty piece of work. I had heard from an old school chum of his that he was a great guy at one time, but that Sarah had poisoned his very soul.

Mr. Palin started to pull away, then he stopped and leaned toward the window. He emphasized that he did not want to be misrepresented by a reporter.

“What goes around comes around,” he said, still smiling.

You kind of have to wonder how how much longer Todd can hold it together.

After all he is a guy who was well known for cherishing his alone time, and who had a fair amount of autonomy. Now he is reduced to being Sarah's hired hand, full time babysitter, part time chauffeur, and occasional arm candy for big media events.  And he seems to be responding to it all like one of those big cats in the zoo who pace back and forth, back and forth, until they one day they simply lie down and welcome the sweet escape of death.

    From NYT article:

Mr. Heath said he was careful about nudging his daughter toward the things that interest him.

“I don’t want to push the wrong button with Sarah,” he said. “Besides, she doesn’t make the decisions. Let me retract that. I’m sure she thinks them over and she has a lot of say as to yes and no.”

Huh? So who makes the final decisions about which appearance offers to accept, endorsements to make, insults to hurl, etc.? Todd, the shadow/real ex-gov?

Hmmm.... Another slip-up or TMI from Papa Heath, perhaps?

The money is out there for someone to write the book with all the dirty laundry on Sarah...

Levi, Meg, Ivey, John Bitney.... get writing!

Now is the time to take her down

Nice touch, Todd - nothing like a veiled threat to end an interview.

My goodness, I hope these people are nearing the end of their power trip.

    Chuck Heath is quoted:
“I don’t want to push the wrong button with Sarah,” he said. “Besides, she doesn’t make the decisions. Let me retract that. I’m sure she thinks them over and she has a lot of say as to yes and no.”

What does he mean "she doesn't make the decisions" and "she has a lot of say"? I think this is worth looking into Grypen. If she is not making the decisions, who is? The VanSusterens? Fred Malek? Dick Cheney? Rupert Murdoch? If Chuck Heath just confirmed that Sarah Palin is a puppet and someone else pulls the strings, Who is the Puppetmaster? I think that's a very important question. Who is the one making the decisions if it's not Palin?

One of these days, hopefully very soon, she's gonna piss off the wrong person she threw under the bus. Someone with some knowledge and someone who can bring her down. I can't wait.

    From Politico today

Sarah Palin has endorsed the once high flying Vaughn Ward in Tuesday's Idaho GOP primary in Idaho's 1st Congressional District.

On Friday, Palin slipped into Boise beneath the national right wing radar screen. Her quiet appearance was for good reason. Her candidate, Vaughn Ward, is sinking beneath the surface like BP's oil plume. Ward has seen his one time double-digit lead erased to a dead heat against an Idaho Tea Party endorsed candidate with no funds for TV. Undecideds lead both GOP primary candidates.

With free tickets available for the right and curious, a small crowd of approximately 1,100 turned out on Friday to hear Palin endorse Ward. What followed on Saturday and Sunday leads one to wonder whether Palin will help or bury Ward. On Saturday, a Mason-Dixon poll showed Ward sinking after 3 weeks of slick TV ads. On Sunday the Idaho Statesman endorsed Ward's opponent, Raul Labrador, calling Ward untrustworthy - and that was the nice stuff.

In Boise, Palin entered the bosom of "Bronco Nation" - home of the Boise State University Broncos - and hollered "Go Vandals" like a University of Idaho cheerleader at a rally in northern Idaho. There are no potatoes grown in her birthplace of Sandpoint, Idaho, yet Palin declared herself a "potatohead." Clearly her political GPS system failed her on sports and agricultural geography. If she felt comfortable writing her own material for Idaho consumption it proved to be a poor decision.

The Palin national magic could sputter big time in Idaho on Tuesday if Raul Labrador defeats Vaughn Ward and earns the right to face Rep. Walt Minnick in November. It would be an ironic round trip for Palin from birth to political demise.

It's no wonder Palin didn't issue a news release to the national press that she "went home." That trip to Bronco Nation might be a costly and embarrassing one indeed.

I have a feeling Ivy Frye is, or was, Todd's "special" friend. I got this feeling when I read the e-mails that were being investigated. There were plenty between she and Todd that seemed too "familiar." No surprise she is under the bus now.

The comments about this story at gawker.com are hilarious!

It's titled "Todd Palin mostly hangs around the house threatening people"

"What goes around comes around," he said, still smiling.
He then added, "And I should know. I worked for BP for 18 years. Once the Gulf of Mexico said I was a goateed shitbag. Who's laughing now, Gulf? Who's laughing now?"

Oh she will definitely piss off the wrong person. Her boldness has turned into a sick, evil power trip. Someone will definitely stop her although she will more likely be the one who does herself in.
I curse the people who are helping her behind the scenes. They have to know what a sick nutjob she is. Randy Schneumann, Bill Kristol, Fred Malek are a few.
You can tell she is getting more and more insane- her attacks of President Obama are out of control and are treasonous because they contain purposeful lies.

Her mental illness is shown by her recent description of herself on TV as honest.

She's gotten away with EVERY single "gate" so far. Every single one!!

Here is the good news though. Remember most people would never vote for her. Her numbers are in the tank. She doesn't win straw polls among conservatives.

Let's hope her crazy statements get more bold. The more she talks, the more overexposed she is and the more people can't stand her. She will also be more likely to screw up- I have to say I hope that happens before she makes the wrong person mad and they do something to her. She has a way of really infuriating people.

I also think her family is falling apart and that is why her kids are acting out. One or more of them could turn on her. Money only goes so far.

All we can do is keep helping the MSM do their job. And if she is stupid enough to run for president, we have to demand the MSM does it's job, demand she do real interviews.

God I hate that psycho bitch. The way she talks about our President is unnerving to say the least. Disagree ok! Lie, berate, invalidate? NOT ok.

I think Todd-boy's basic character has always been what it is now. Mean & sneaky. The buddy who remembers him as a 'great guy,' likely only knew him
superficially, the way kids know lots of their sports
teammates & class members. Today, epithets such
    as 'terrific,' 'beautiful,' 'brilliant,' 'great,'
are so commonly ascribed to the most ordinary people
these adjectives have lost their meaning.

Remember when Levi told how Todd threatened him with a gun? That's pretty cowardly. A real man would go
    after a daughter's suppossedly errant boyfriend &
put him up against a wall or slug him. Not Todd,
he gets a gun. Probably knows he never was, or could
be Levi's equal. My dad had it in for one of my
boyfriends & if he'd caught him he'd have used his fists not a weapon. Todd & Sarah share similiar
character flaws, she just talks more.

It might be nice if the Energy Expert actually had some helpful comments about the oil spill, from her vast experience. Surely she knows how to cap the well and get the oil off the beaches. How would SHE deal with BP?

She does want to nationalize our oil business because that is the only way to keep the oil here for Americans. Does she even know that all oil drilled is sold in the same marketplace?

The puppeteers are named above- those who profit because this sick woman generates media bucks- magazines, air time, etc. She also continues to have speaking gigs. The more ridiculous she is, the more she attracts attention and the puppeteers know this. It is NOT about any particular ideology or political party anymore. It's about making money from this sorry excuse for a human being -- whatever she does. PERIOD.

She is under their control because that's how she rakes it in(the puppet masters have the contacts and they take their cut), because they have the inside dirt on her and threaten her with exposure if she doesn't co-operate and because she is a sick attention whore who experiences the cult's support as one would a drug. It's sick all around. If she actually runs for POTUS-- it will be a circus, all about entertainment and TV network viewership. Then, as primary season draws to a close, she will throw her "support" to another candidate. ALL of this will be pre-arranged.

Let's go G-- get her done.

Todd Palin is headed for under the bus, he's just not bright enough to know it. He's a way bigger liability than he realizes.

As for Chuck Heath's comment, i's inconceivable to me that my own father would talk about pushing my "buttons". He was not capable of so utterly disrespecting my adult intellect. Either Chuck Heath has a completely false sense of his own power or Sarah Heath Palin is a weak, complacent puppet.

    My guess is puppet.

Annon @ 7:33 - That was my first thought too!

By the religion the Palin's supposedly live by, the husband is the ruler of the woman and the house. It was proven that Todd was the shadow-governor, and I'm sure he's the one who is pulling the strings, however, as we all know, Sarah doesn't really like to be subservient - to anyone. Pretty soon somebody is gonna implode in that family. Money might make you more comfortable, but it also usually makes those personnal issues that much more acute.

I'm making a prediction right now - remember this so we can all say "Yep" when it happens. As soon as Sarah's so -called 2010 Presidential run is dead, buried and moldering in its grave and the gravy train of Tea Party supporters and Fox News jobs trickles away, Todd is going to take a hike too. - Hedgewytch

I want the media to treat her like a Presidential candidate and scrutinize everything. Including her entourage and family. We need more of that. Todd gave away part of the Discovery Show, Dillingham, on Bristol Bay, family fishing. It sounds like Track will be included, Bristol is busy, Willow? Sarah's roots and the hard working Sarah building the family unity and business. Interesting contrast of Bristol Bay (edible fish?) and Lake Lucille (not edible fish). The fishing family picks the dead lake to raise family.
What I find interesting is the density. On one hand they are 'remote' on the other they build structures closer than some higher density areas. No mention of the Best Western that is right there or how close they were to Shooters and other conveniences.

Piper is at a dance rehearsal, is she allowed to attend school yet? They will have a perfect home school set up in the 'big shop.' “Big shop for Trig and Tripp to play in, and for Piper.” It sounds like Tripp will live at the compound with Trig, when, next fall? No way will a busy Bristol have time to drive twice each day to take him and pick him up, go to work 8-5, bath him twice prepare meals, do laundry and all.

If Piper is busy it sounds like Track and Willow are the ones to help Todd and Sally baby sit.

The FBI files are very THICK!
