She is as fit to be president as Trump is not. The gap is daunting — the wrong result would be dangerous to America and the world. But to win Clinton must address her own weaknesses as a candidate, reflected in uncomfortably high negatives, and rooted in difficulties which cannot be wished away.

Some derive from 25 years of being pounded with lies, distortions and half-truths, rooted in a pervasive double standard. In a way, this Darwinian experience is oddly reassuring. Hillary Clinton is tough — if she hasn’t cracked by now, she never will.

But other problems are self-inflicted.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/richard-north-patterson/why-hillary-clinton_b_9829044.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9361564.post-13772119567185648482016-05-17T07:57:51.892-08:002016-05-17T07:57:51.892-08:00*

These voters have serious issues with Clinton and the takeover of the party by the Clintons and their allies.

If Sanders' voters are disenfranchised it will be by the Democratic party's leadership itself that has blindly backed Clinton and New Democrats at the expense of voters who don't support the aims and legacy of the New Democrats, and thereby reject the party's swing to Republican lite over twenty years ago.

Bernie Sanders should be offered a cabinet position at least and the policies his voters are backing should be incorporated into the Democratic platform, if the Democratic party wants to really change and serve the people, and if it is to be credible at all to voters who don’t trust its Wall St. wing embodied in Hilary’s candidacy.

Again, if Sanders' voters are disenfranchised it will be by the Democratic party's leadership who vilify Bernie Sanders at the cost of losing voters who want economic improvement for the people not the oligarchs. Why do party leaders continue on this unproductive path of blaming Sanders and his supporters? Because embracing Bernie Sanders and his policies would mean the Democratic leadership would have to really change course away from doing the bidding of the moneyed interests; admitting Sanders is right would be a painful admission that the party took a wrong turn and needs redirection. I don’t expect that much humility and wisdom from party leaders but miracles happen.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9361564.post-91613143397581961652016-05-17T06:28:48.568-08:002016-05-17T06:28:48.568-08:00*
