Somehow "Awesome" just doesn't cover it. Nah, Gry..."But hey, that's just me."

Nah, Gryph. Me too. I am constantly amazed by the world that surrounds us and have no need to attribute the stunning complexity and beauty to mythology. There is PURPOSE in every aspect of every living thing. The beak of a hummingbird, the frequency of a babies cry, the color of leaves, the structure of a flower, the acute hearing of a dog, the natural insulation of a polar bear, etc. All that is amazing in this world serves a purpose. We as a species have been, and hopefully will continue to, discover what these purposes are.Smirnonnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07607892247096642427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9361564.post-70571830062783182102012-09-21T12:18:22.001-08:002012-09-21T12:18:22.001-08:00There is no such thing as not worshipping. And an outstanding reason for choosing some sort of God or spiritual-type thing to worship--be it J.C. or Allah, be it Yahweh or the Wiccan mother-goddess or the Four Noble Truths or some infrangible set of ethical principles--is that pretty much anything else you worship will eat you alive.

David Foster WallaceDudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06849866517236034909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9361564.post-66066988641086665982012-09-21T07:54:36.814-08:002012-09-21T07:54:36.814-08:00No it's not just you.

What makes you think that we don't enjoy the magnificence of nature? And certainly I don't need your misguided sympathy. You seem to have a very narrow view of people of faith. Not all of us take the Bible literally or as an infallible document.WakeUpAmericanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9361564.post-80440515426755702202012-09-21T05:18:27.711-08:002012-09-21T05:18:27.711-08:00Beautiful... from micro to macro, the Law of the U...Beautiful... from micro to macro, the Law of the Universe rules the everlasting cycle of Birth, Life and Death. It is both the Creator and the Creation. But, then, we are back to 'life' where a base mankind drives roughshod over his world, takes what's his, leaves the crumbs for the poor, and ignores the universe. That beautiful music in this clip screeches to an ugly stop, because the raping and pillaging of the world started the moment men had intelligent thought.

Why did it turn out this way? Why do men have to have emotions, feelings, understanding? It would have been easier for us to be like the animals, no guilt or conscience. Why did mankind find itself imbued with intelligence and a sense of right or wrong?

For us that seek fairness and truth for others, why go through the grief; why not just join the unjust side and live a short life of debauchery and evil? Why is there that something where we want to do right? Where does that come from?

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
