That doesn't count what I spent on conferences, classes and trainings.

They changed the tax laws so in the last few years of my career I couldn't deduct more than $500.

No teacher spends $500 or less supplementing school supplies. Teachers have been subsidizing public schools for decades and all the Deplorables can do is attack them for being paid too much and having too much "time off". (Average teachers work 50-60 hours weeks with the bulk of the work at home, unpaid, grading papers and preparing lesson plans. All that "time off" at home during the summer? Taking classes to recertify or for an advanced degree so they can do their jobs better. On their own time and paid for out of their own pocket.

People are clueless as to the dedication of teachers and ungrateful for what they provide both in the classroom and out. mlaiuppahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13792165896828163411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9361564.post-69448916390997769902017-07-21T09:00:14.273-08:002017-07-21T09:00:14.273-08:00Jobs=0

My late father was a steel worker and I remember asking him if it was fair that he paid tuition for my brothers and me, but his taxes paid for public schools we didn't attend. He said yes it was fair. He and my mother chose to send us to Catholic school.
