Clearly Bill Maher gets it.

As reality based skeptic, I have virtually NO trust in any person living in this day and age, who claims to make decisions based on a literal interpretation of a book filled with fables and allegories, that were clearly intended to frighten unsophisticated illiterates into doing as they were told by the priests.

And to have that same book used as a bludgeon to bully people into following ancient instruction on who they can love, how many babies they must have, and how to live their life, literally makes me want to scream in frustration.

Everybody has the right to believe whatever they want to believe, but they have NO right to inflict those beliefs on others.

I agree. Those of us who believe in God have a right to not be harassed and mocked for our belief, and those who are atheists have a right to not be harassed and mocked for their belief.

  4. Bill Maher is always right on. I love that man. We need people like him in government. People like him and Elizabeth Warren.

Santorum is having a real problem with pot/kettle syndrome. Accusing President Obama of "forcing his values" on the catholic church... Jeeze, he can't,er, WON'T see that he is forcing his own miserable values on women who comprise more than 50% of the American population.

I hope he wins the GOP nomination. Women have come too far to be put back down by the likes of this nimrod. President Obama likes and respects women, Santorum seems to despise women. Obama 2012.

Let's send the rethugs packing gang!

  6. It has occurred to me that Rick Santorum has been charged with increasing the white population.

And 'they' told him to hurry.

How hard would it be for someone to trap Santourm into saying that masturbation should be illegal. i.e Christine O'Donnel?

It's only a matter of time.

People of little brains actually LIKE someone telling them what to think and do. And if it's a "holy"
book of rules, all the better. It saves the pea-brains from having to think, or reason or question. That can hurt your brain, y'know. And because it's a "holy" book, they can feel superior to the rest of us, who actually use our brains for more that taking up space. That includes, you Frothy.

  12. The only reason that line was allowed to be included when a bunch of old white men decided what to put in the Bible, was to insure more followers in the future, therefor more tithes and power for the Church.

Anyone who actually sits down and reads the Bible - and then goes on to believe it as fact...

has a serious reading comprehension problem, understands neither metaphor nor allegory, or all of the above.

Otherwise; THE most effective way to turn someone OFF of religiosity is to have them READ the bible.

I totally enjoy watching and listening to Bill Maher! He just cracks me up. Plus, love his support of President Obama!!! We are going to see this wonderful guy reelected. Screw the Republicans - they are nothing more than assholes and need to be voted out of office in Congress, state and city levels. They are screwing our nation and more and more citizens are paying attention! Thank God!!!

I'm also an atheist! Totally agree w/Maher. This religion crap that is involved w/this primary election is a joke!

Christians are fast becoming NOT the majority in the United States of America. Christians are the most hateful bunch I've ever seen - look at the Republican assholes we have across this nation. They are frightening as hell. Get rid of them when elections come around in November.

I adore that man's wit and humor. Santorum wants people to know what's in his head, his heart, and what's burning below his belt. I see nothing in his head and heart, and suspect the burning sensation can easily be cured with penicillin.

The last sentance says it all.

No birth control means women would have no choice but to be preggo all the time.Refusing to hire women in the workplace would ensure that we would have no choice but to get married by age 18 or so and exist as breeders. That's the ultimate goal of the reichwing:control women, and everything else is easy.
What's shameful is that in this day and time, with so much progress,so many people are still that influenced by a rambling text of Bronze Age superstition and scare tactics.
