During "Meet the Press' interview James Comey dismisses report by House Intelligence Committee and suggests that Trump will lie under oath.

Courtesy of NBC News:

Former FBI Director James Comey on Sunday dismissed the findings of a GOP report claiming there is no evidence President Donald Trump’s campaign colluded with Russians during the 2016 election. He added that, as a former prosecutor, he has “serious doubts” about Trump’s credibility as a potential witness.

Comey called the recently released report by Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee “a political document” during an interview on “Meet The Press.”

“That is not my understanding of what the facts were before I left the FBI and I think the most important piece of work is the one the special counsel's doing now,” Comey added.

Asked whether the committee has served a good investigative purpose overall, Comey said, “not that I can see.”

The former FBI director also said politicization has “wrecked the committee, and it damaged relationships with the FISA Court, the intelligence communities. It's just a wreck.”

Yeah it's hard to argue with Comey on this.

The House Intelligence Committee with Devin Nunes in charge was NEVER going to find anything problematic about Trump's interactions with Russia.

Comey also weighed in on Trump's seeming inability to tell the truth:

“I have serious doubts about his credibility,” Comey said of Trump, adding that he worries about whether the president would be truthful under oath or not.

“Sometimes people who have serious credibility problems can tell the truth when they realize that the consequences of not telling the truth in an interview or in the grand jury would be dire,” Comey said. “But you'd have to go in with a healthy sense that he might lie to you.”

In other words Trump will almost certainly lie under oath, and that will essentially be his undoing.

Which is something that probably EVERYBODY knows, with the possible exception of Trump himself.

Comey was bitten by the scorpion so he knows. But we all know Trump will lie under oath. It's a given.
The Liar in Chief has never told a truth in his life. But truth has a way of overpowering lies.

God bless the Rule of Law.

All you losers who thought to enrich your pockets while selling democracy down the river. Heads up. Incoming.

He'll serve his first term but I doubt he'll be elected for a second.

That being said, I seriously wish that the Democratic Party was pushing a candidate, but it seems they have no strong contenders.

By this time in Obama's second term we had GOP contenders coming out of the woodwork pumping themselves for their candidacies, but right now, even though the time is perfect for an early inroads, crickets from the Dems.

This could mean a second term for Trump, or a shoe-in for Pence. I'd hate to see Democracy suffer any longer than necessary but it seems that the Democratic party is just letting the Trump problem fester, when they should be rolling out voices that can save the country.

No one thought W would serve two terms but he did, and America survived, just barely. Two terms of Trump would probably kill it dead as we know it, but hey, there's no stopping the Idiocracy if it is is truly here, and from the looks of things if it's not actually here, it's well on its way.

    2. They'll probably do something stupid like put up Kucinich.

Sorry, but Joe Biden won't win. Not against anyone they put up. And it will probably be Pence.

      The Democrats got nothing.

Tim Kaine? I had to google it because I couldn't even remember his name. He doesn't have what it takes either.

The Democrats basically have no one qualified with the charisma to pull off a win. We're two years out there they've got nothing.

Too busy playing identity politics and division rather than political leadership and a solid platform 9:29. Dems are fucked.

Oh, bullshit! The Democrats have plenty of good people...Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand, Tim Kaine, even Biden. The idea they have no one good is just a GOP talking point.

    7. Tim Mr. Boring can’t remember his name Kaine won’t win. Biden is too nice and too old.

I will NEVER vote for Harris or Gillibrand after how they railroaded Al Franken.

I’d vote for Tammy Duckworth but they won’t put her up. Plus her newborn will be too young for her to campaign.

  5. He will lie. He will lie without even realizing it. He lies so much he doesn’t even realize when he’s doing it. He lies so often he believes his lies. It’s why he contradicts himself so often, then lies to try to change history. I think he lies just to lie. Some of his lies serve no purpose. I just think he is incapable of telling the truth, even about little things.

He probably lies about how much sugar he puts in his coffee.

Heck lets give old trump the benefit of the doubt. Bring him in and let him talk under oath. Give him a chance, what the heck.

I didn't understand Comey's comment that trump was surprised that comey knew about the pee pee tape.

Was he surprised because he didn't think his buddy putin was spying on him or surprised because it never happened:)
