Russian President Putin weighs in on Iran nuclear issue.

"We do not have information that Iran is trying to create a nuclear weapon. We operate on the principle that Iran does not have those plans," Putin said.

He added that Russia shared the West's desire for Iran's nuclear programme, in which Russia is building the first civilian power station, to be "absolutely transparent."

It seems obvious that Putin and others are fairly convinced that the United Sates is planning to attack Iran, and are trying to go on record as being unconvinced there is a reason for military action.

I just don't think it will make any difference to the Bush administration.
