You know I hate to say I told you so but......oh who am I kidding? I totally love to say I told you so!
While I am on the subject of Sarah Palin let me address a few of your questions real fast.
The next Palin scandal should be coming out in the next few weeks. Yes I know what it is, and I will have some more additional information after another media outlet gets to have the initial scoop.
No I don't know for sure what AlaskaWTF has heard. The hints that were given might pertain to what I know, or they might not.
This next scandal is NOT the one that was alluded to back in 2009.
It is also the first of the many very damaging revelations that are coming out in 2011.
Like I said before this year is going to be all champagne and cocktail weenies for those critical of the Grizzled Mama, and leave a devastating trail of tears for the Palin-bots. Try not to gloat.
I also think that many of the Immoral Minority's long time readers will be pleased to learn that their confidence in this blog will be validated, as both IM and myself will turn up in some pretty surprising places.
When that happens all of you will FINALLY get to see what I have been doing with my time when I am not sitting at this keyboard, or going to work, or eating, or sleep.....uh...hey.....I knew I was forgetting to do something!
By the way I don't say it nearly often enough, but I could never do what I do without all of the great support from you, my loyal readers. Thank you very much for hanging out with me each day. It would not be nearly as much fun, not to mention pretty damn lonely, without your support.

Thanks so much for all that you have done here Gryphen. I don't post often but read daily and am inspired by you and others who recognize when something is wrong and take action. I look forward to the day when Sarah and others like her are taken off the stage. And am I hopeful that the day will come in America when self-serving people like Sarah are recognized immediately for what they are and never given the opportunity to ruin the peace and democracy in our society. If Sarah and those like her (Rush, Beck, Tammy gun lady, Teabaggers, etc.) prevail with their hate-spewing, half-truth-telling, rage-inciting rhetoric, our society will be reduced down to that level as well and the real terrorists will have won by having the USA destroy itself. Words DO have meaning and we need to stop the hate now before it cripples us. Thanks again for your courage in standing up and being the voice of reason and sanity. First thing in the morning, I grab my phone and look for new post (You must blog late into the night, because I am in the UK and while I'm in bed you have a new post up) then I get ready for work and check again, then when I get to work I log on, then all through work I check your blog, then when I get home for the rest of the night I check your blog. When I go to friends / family I log on and check! The reason my battery in my phone go so often is because I keep checking your darn blog!
Your style, snark and heads up keeps me glued; I'm not surprised just by mentioning your name Todd knew who you are (tells they read your blog cause you always have the accurate goss on them), and the great Rachel Maddow reads your blog, (I suspect Keith Olberman does as well).

I will definitely try not to gloat...Palin and her backers and circle of vipers deserve whatever punishment is heading their way for the sprewing so much hate and vileness. However, most of the Palin followers are just hard working every day folks that unfortunately are gullible - and I will do my best to be respectful as the truth is revealed so that intelligent and civil conversations can take place. It is never easy finding out an idolt has clay feet (or in this case rotten to the core feet-legs-core-brain).

You stinker, Gryphen, I will patiently wait with cocktail in hand and a smile on my face knowing you will not let us down. I was explaining the paylin saga to a friend who is out of touch and she could NOT believe what I was telling her. She asked if this was just a fictional story some Hollywood screen writer made up--NOPE. The scandalous goings-on of these people are hard to digest and it makes for a great soap opera and why we are all hooked. I swore off soap operas after Luke and Laura and never went back, but here we are. I remember my college English teacher at the time would chide us and say that real life was far more interesting than what General Hospital had to offer. How true and prophetic she was. My only fear is that one day scara will have a REAL breakdown, tell-all book campaign and tour, make millions and somehow redeem herself. She should never get a second chance--she has blown too many already. Thanks for giving us a place to vent.

ReplyDeleteFace it, this family has so much drama it could be anything. Bristol's gotta have that kid soon (which could be a few weeks), Todd's doin' who knows who? Willow could have been busted for something or be with child, Sarah could be facing law suits from the TLC show, and her emails as govenor might finally be released, showing she ruled by fear & intimidation along with rule-breaking, and never had an OB appointment! The list never ends.....and could keep us entertained for years.
Strange goings on - Have you noticed that every week or so TMZ or RadorOnLine prints a photo of Bristol in a parking lot unloading a buggy and the comment is she is shopping for her new home.
ReplyDeleteMind you, only 1 or 2 photos and that is it. No photos of the media following her home and taking photos of her going into her home.
In one of the photos on Rador, it showed Bristol loading the truck bed with what looked like baby mattresses and it appeared to be 3 of them and she was pushing from one side and looked as if she was working with someone helping her on other side of the truck. Strange thing is no photo of who was helping her and the tag showed on her truck as Tripp.
Someone is feeding the media these photos and I am not sure she is even in Arizona and the colleges have already confirmed that she has NOT registered there.
In Palin words, the lamestream media is after them so tell me this? Why in the world did they publish the family give out the address of the Arizona house and say it was in her name and why does Bristol ride around in a truck with a tag saying TRIPP?
It all appears to be smoke & mirrors and the Palins are doing their own photos and press releases.

this country's fate hung on the edge of a knife in 2008 (acknowledgment to tolkien for metaphor). and yet she still managed to turn bean sidhe (banshee) on obama and others in this country (such as all american muslims, wasillians living in fear, people in need of better health reform, people afraid of 2nd amendment remedies, not to mention her whopping and ridiculous enemies list... the list goes on) and deliberately f things up for our democratically elected democrats and moderate republicans (the one or two we have), not to mention, start many damaging and deceitful memes about our president and his family. the day when the media stops feeding this national troll lurking under our nation's crumbling bridges will be a great day for america. there will still be other nasty voices and a certain fox news personality or two or three i would love to see thoroughly discredited, beck in particular, but it seems somehow that sarah has come the closest in scaring us out of our ever-loving minds, especially that she would get within even a block of the white house.

Couple his early knowledge of this information, along with her complete disappearance for a month and we get the sense that storm clouds really are gathering. While I don't normally partake in Schadenfreude, I cannot help but feel pleased to know that this divisive opportunist is about to get her comeuppance. Those who deal in the art of deception should be wary at all times that there duality will be exposed. Numbers 32:23, "But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out."

Which is why none of what Gryphen has spoken about has come to fruition despite some serious warnings. I"m not saying that whatever is brewing isn't real, but he has warned many times before and nothing happened.

ReplyDeleteHi Gryphen, I am not sure people always understand the nature of these situations, that if you are in touch with others in the media you are ethically obligated not to pre-emptively scoop them. There are cooperative, behind-the-scenes relationships that must be respected in order for access and exchange of info to continue, I would imagine. I have never doubted your credibility on any of this.
ReplyDeleteI too am very appreciative that you have unflinchingly carried on in your efforts to expose the Palins for who they truly are, but I am quite sure you will have many other things to talk about if Sarah is effectively removed from her dangerous position as a GOP hopeful. I would bet you will find it a relief not to be one of her watchdogs anymore. There will be other folks to watch up there in AK however, I am sure, just like down here! Sadly, it never ends. Other issues may start to demand your attention and I am sure the blog will be as thriving as ever.
I want to thank you for leaving your threads alone for the most part, as well. I think the fact that you don't provide chat options for us or socialize with your readers, for the most part, means you have been able to keep things focused solely on what matters most. We are a mixture of anons and names and we don't generally come here to hang out with one another, or with you (you'll pardon my saying that, haha). This is best for the task at hand. Anyone can comment at any time, and aside from your ability to moderate if you deem it necessary, things remain straight-forward. You have stayed in control, which has been beneficial I think. Other sites have succumbed to a muddying of the waters in this regard. Regular posters have set up camp and essentially taken over. Very much a deterrent to free commenting, as there is a suffocating clique at the gate, so to speak. I am glad you have avoided this.
By the way, I have always felt you let any trolls on here in case they got it in their heads to spill the beans, either on the thread or separately, to you. Smart, very, very smart ;-).
Additionally, I want to say that I think you have always understood that a variety of stories on the Palins were going to be possibilities for taking her out of politics. You haven't gotten on a high horse about it, you have covered both the scandals and the more substantive story lines. It all matters, and whatever it takes, right?

Let's all pray this is the year our dear grifter palin finally runs out of her 15 minutes. Someday we'll look back on this decade with sadness, humor, shock and finally hope. Someday palin will be included in the history books as a McCarthy type that brought pain, polarized and divided our country along with beck and the rest of that ilk. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so stupid. It's embarrassing. And with all of her lies, coverups and glaring hypocrisy - it's stunning that she's managed to stay in the news for over 2 years. It's stunning with all the proof and evidence of her record, lies and lack of ethics personally and professionally that she's still on the front pages. I have sensed from the first time she was put on the GOP ticket that something was not good about her....clearly I never imagined how awful the truth would be fot democracy. This would be the 1st time I would watch Fox News just for their CYA theatrics and provide myself with some cheap entertainment! RM, KO, and L O'D will be the exception of course to MSM and would be providing more jaw dropping details and ongoing coverage. We DESERVE the truth about the faked pregnancy and the lies and coverups. As far as that brain challenged Levi, his comments about "knowing" things that could hurt palin only angered me more. If this baby maker KNOWS something, then open your damn mouth and tell the truth because otherwise you're as bad, if not worse then the rest of those grifters. I really, really hope this IS the beginning of the end for her so we can all relax, get back to work and try to repair some of her damage...and please, please make those kids of her get counseling or something. They're poster children for a big, fat FAIL on the parents. Obnoxious, troublesome, didn't graduate, pregnant, offensive language in public and breaking into homes, etc

Bristol obviously hasn't been pregnant since Tripp and that created a false narrative and distracted from other important matters. I know you like the extra cmments Bristol stories and family drama give the blog, but they rally do distract and muddle the facts.
We know Levi and Sadie have given contradictory info to different mags. We know Bristol is friends with Gino (nothing much more has been proven). We know the Palins had several family/holiday events which kept them busy. There was some event at molly's house recently. We know someone in the family is hosting a foreign exchange student.
Everything else is conjecture
I can only chime in with those who say how much your blog and all the comments have become a part of my morning ritual. I am overwhelmed by all you do. You must be a tornado, just dealing with the comments is a ardent task. Love your writing and I am in awe of your humor and wonderful spirit. The right balance of strength and tenderness. I am sure there will be many enlightened days ahead.

ReplyDeleteThat photo that was put out could have been taken in the past in AZ, or my other thought was that she appears to have continued to gain weight (everyone agreed on that one) and there was some sort of garment on under the shirt and shorts - you could see it peaking out. She looked quite big in the abdomen, wide-ways.
The people who keep calling for conjecture and rumor not to be speculated upon are the most suspect of all, imo. Why are we "allowed" to focus on some things but not others? Who really cares? Gryphen is not aspiring to a Nobel Peace Prize, to my understanding.
I say everything is fair game. We aren't running for office, we are citizens. We can talk about whatever we like, right?

She is NUTs and I can tell you that I KNOW for sure that higher ups in the McCain campaign have this knowledge and won't sit on it forever either but campaign careers can be over if they can't keep secrets.
Btw, those who are wedded to the notion that the fake Trig pregnancy story is the one that will put Sarah out of the running politically forever, think again. I bet that story will simply figure into a larger one and while it will point to an ability on her part to deceive, it will ultimately be considered a noble act meant to protect her daughter or whomever else from the family who was involved.

I stopped reading comments at a certain site because so much of it was, "good morning so and so", good morning, off to work now, gotta feed my cat now, and I just don't have time for that. I spend enough time as it is rechecking for new posts, and it was frustrating to wade through 20 of those type of comments to get one opinion on the post. I don't mean any disrespect by that, just offering my opinion. There was some backlash there too against IM and I was turned off by it, even before I was a loyal IM reader. I also like that the trolls are kept at a minimum. There are so many sites that I think have been ruined by trolls; sites where I used to read comments, and I just don't even bother anymore.

Just assumptions, but I feel this will be federal indictments coming down based on the email trail. Many were alluding to the fact that the emails showcased dirty dealings. I would also assume that this may tie to the Joe Miller email issues. It is amazing what tech folks can do with servers! This would also explain why her attorney fled Alaska so quickly. He may have cooperated in order to avoid losing his license.

I want this revelation to be the irrefutable truth that finally brings her political and media careers to an end and sends her into permanent oblivion. She has caused irreparable harm to this country and to our political process and I want her gone from the spotlight for good and to become merely a curious footnote in the historical accounts of this political era. Only then can we begin to chart a new course for this country and perhaps find a way to work together to fix the many real problems we face.

When it comes to the scandal that will end Palin's career, there is no "it." The proper way to think about it is to picture many, not just one.
ReplyDeleteI had long pictured the babygate scandal as bringing about the death of her political career. However, as they say, a funny thing happened on the way to that truth. I found many more scandals that were just as, or even more, devastating as the one I was working to uncover.
So I began playing "matchmaker." Helping to match those who had a story to tell, to those who could get that story to the widest possible audience.

ReplyDeleteI've also been following the "gates" since the early days of Audrey's blog, and also reached the conclusion that babygate will not be her undoing -- in part because of what seems like a decent chance that she could spin the truth in a way that garners sympathy. The importance of babygate, I think, is that it opened a lot of eyes, right off the bat, to Palin's true (deeply pathological) colors. Having watched another successful, charismatic NPD poster child up close, I now how people hesitate to believe the worst -- that a person lies as casually as they speak, that they manipulate every situation to keep themselves center stage, that they are extraordinarily vindictive if anyone dares challenge the Queen. "But she seems so NICE!" And when it's an attractive, apparently successful woman, it's so d@mned easy to turn things around: "You're just jealous," if a critic is female, "You can't stand the idea of a successful woman," if a critic is male. It takes something pretty outrageous to open people's eyes, if they don't see the person in action up close. But once the eyes are opened, they see how the rest of the pieces fall into place.

I'm just hoping that, once she's exposed for whatever these many scandals are, the floodgates will open and babygate will come spilling out. As someone pointed out, she flapped her gums way too much and gave way too many details for that. She's brought it up and scoffed at the "Trig truthers" way too many times. ReplyDeleteThe idea that in pretending she gave birth to Trig, that she made millions because he has Down Syndrome, I just don't agree with that. I think it obviously helped her career with a certain portion of her constituency (ugh, hate even using that term as it makes her sound legitimate) and she took full advantage of it.
ReplyDeleteThe truly terrifying thing, imo, is that Sarah's appeal has gone far beyond the right-to-lifers. She was really making headway for a while there, but lately she has screwed up countless times and eaten into her own lead.
I think there will be other things that stop her political career. I know that will be sort of jarring to those who have pinpointed the fake Trig pregnancy as the presumptive cause of her undoing.
Listen, the info has been out there for a long time now. I think many, many people in the MSM and elsewhere know it's probably true that she faked it, but they have made a calculated decision not to cover it. I don't think this is solely because they are protecting their all-purpose-media-star-gravy train, I also think it's because some of them have her number, don't like her, and have decided it might inadvertently garner sympathy for her as an unintended consequence. I do think some of them are waiting to see what takes her aspirations off the rails for good, aside from that personal story.
I think good people who did a lot of work gathering data and evidence on the Trig thing would very understandably like that to be the story that finishes her political trajectory. If it were going to be that thing, though, it would have happened already.

Re babygate getting spinned into some kind of altruistic story, even with all the endless documented lying: the problem is that the original motivation for the baby hoax (I suspect some very sad, sordid, overwhelming circumstances in the family) will not come to light until years from now, if ever, as abuse secrets do (or don't). So we will not know the full story in a timely way.

I do think the way things have been going for her, the critical mass is such that with just a few more revelations, be they personal or professional, scandalous or ethically questionable, she will be dropped slowly but surely like a hot potato by those who sought to make her a puppet for their own purposes in the first place. That's the type of abandonment we have needed, never mind the public. They will attach themselves to someone else.

I truly am not interested in personal/professional destruction, in fact if I am not to be a hypocrite, I can't be interested in that.
I think we should all be satisfied with that. The rest is vindictive obsession and wasted energy. Moving on.

• Sincerely hope that Gryphen will do a 'behind the scenes' tell all once this whole thing starts. The mechanics of how it all came down will be nothing short of fascinating.
• This vile excuse for a human being has unleashed the fundie 'hounds of hell' on this country and I don't think they are going to go willing back into their pits.
• What Gryphen should write about when she's finally institutionalized: someone in Minnesota is waiting in the wings.
• What's the deal with McCain suddenly being seen with Obama (memorial service) and supporting him - McCain Calls Obama a 'Patriot,' Rejects Critics Who Say He's 'Unworthy' to Lead. Think he needs some distance from vicious one?
• So many of us who tarry here (and at other anti-Palin blogs) have spoken of the same instantanious reation to first seeing or hearing her. Look at the words: hair rising on the back of my neck, gut reaction, intuition, I sensed, I felt evil, and last but not least, I instantly hated. I hope somebody will explore and write about the phenomenen of our KNOWING.

@2:58, McCain defends Palin in his Op-Ed. Yes, it's good that he praises the President, but he devotes a paragraph to defending Sarah. He doesn't name her, but it's obvious. Hopefully one offshoot of these scandals coming out will be that he'll have to stop saying how "PROUD" he is of her. Puke. I'd also like him to be exposed for the horribly cynical opportunist he was to tap her for VP.

In my case it was the uncanny resemblance to the other NPD Queen I know (I'm anon@11:19), followed in very short order by my recognition as a mother that the wild ride story was total BS. I wonder if prior familiarity with NPD wasn't generally a big part of that immediate reaction you talk about.

ReplyDeleteRemember Bill Kristol was the guy who 'found' her, and the same Bill Kristol was a signer of the Pact for the New American Century or whatever it was (someone remind me), and Al Gore really won the election, and nobody's really sure how the World Trade Center buildings collapsed (it wasn't jet fuel) and Cheney is making huge profits from invading Iraq for the oil, and it becomes a very trivial matter to think Bristol gave birth to a FAS baby which was exchanged for a more sympathetic DS one, who SP used to such effect at the RNC etc etc. It's a so much bigger takeover of our democracy than we can accept.

Anon 1:07 -- I don't think many of us think the Trig hoax is the main thing -- only that it is a perfect symbol of all the other Palingates, which involve lying, probably stealing, very unethical behavior. And those other Palingates all seem a lot harder to prove, esp at a distance. The babygate hoax is really pretty simple, once you get past the nuttyness of it. The photos tell all, and then there is the huge wealth of circumstantial detail. But the hoax is not illegal (unless there's insurance fraud or something similar).
ReplyDeleteBut I agree that at this point it will be some combo of ALL that will serve to finally derail her, and one or another of our favorite -gates might not get the attn it deserves. Just so long as she goes away.

Please let this be a simple-to-understand debacle. It needs to involve sex (a la Bill Clinton), money, sex for money or some other common but tawdry issue. When the problems are too complex (like Wall Street) the American public doesn't have the patience to get to the details.

To anon@2:58, I know what you mean about the mystery of the phenomenon of knowing... when people talk about that gut instinct, hair raising on neck, etc. because like most of us here, I had that happen too, in regard to SP.
ReplyDeleteI think it has to do with the narcissist thing - I was married to one and became well versed on that disorder. Some people who knew my ex thought he was wonderful, just loved him, practically idolized him, all the while as an insider I saw the very ugly side and was amazed how he could be almost charismatic and fool so many people, including me -at first.
On the other hand, some friends of mine who met him for the first time, (I later found out after we divorced), had an instant dislike, distrust and aversion to him, said they could see right through him and thought he was a fake.
I think for whatever reason, some people are hardwired to immediately sense the presence and evilness of a narcissist, while others are not. Who knows why some people's antennae pick this up and others don't. All I know is I'm more able to recognize it now and I recognized it immediately in SP.
I'm speculating some serious issues involving money, taxes and misappropriations....something that will provide her with an orange jumpsuit and a stay at the Graybar Hotel. The speed with which those in the GOP are distancing themselves from her just confirms that something big is headed our way. Her own actions post Tucson tragedy have ended her political career.

I, for one, would love to see all of us who have followed this story from the beginning, vindicated. I often think about Audrey and hope she continues to follow the story and know that folks like Gryph are carrying the torch most ably.

ReplyDeleteI want the nasty family from LoonyLake to be exposed, but I really would(will?) miss palling around with people who despise them as much as I do. I think we are such a brilliant, sensible, inquisitive bunch. We should have conventions or something if it's ever over with. I can't get over how BAD she looked in that Fakebook bit. Just really...hard.. , and years older than just a few weeks ago. Her appearance,coupled with her relative silence, is proof that she is under some heavy duty pressure. Good. Just good. One more thing. I saw a picture of Bristle at the convention all those many years ago, and compared with the way she looked on DWTS-what the hell happened to her face? She looks like a different person. If she had surgery she should sue the doctor. Last thing. I can't come back here before I get some popcorn in the house, because every time I read these comments I end up craving it, for some reason.
