John McCain Receives The Most Lavish NRA Donations
It’s no secret that pro-gun lobbyists like the National Rifle Association (NRA) overwhelmingly support Republican politicians. It’s an old joke that Republicans tend to campaign with a “God, Guns, [anti-]Gays” platform and, like many well-worn clichés, it keeps getting repeated because there’s more than a little truth to it.
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, John McCain is–by far–the recipient of the most generous donations from “gun rights” organizations. He receives about $400,000 more than John Thune (R-SD), who received the second highest total amount of monetary gifts from pro-gun groups.
Palin sheeple are very stupid. Their children are another generation of dumbed down. They all must be exposed. Is Bristol contributing any truthful positive with Nancy French's job at the blog?

The Arizona Senator's contempt for Chuck Hagel in yesterday's confirmation hearing is all about the guy who nominated him.
...But his political honor, not to mention whatever might once have recommended him to the presidency, has fallen victim to the way that Obama has gotten fatally under his skin. Even if this once-noble statesman should succeed in denying Hagel’s nomination as he denied Susan Rice’s prospects for Secretary of State (and even the most devout Hagel supporter would have to acknowledge that the Defense nominee’s performance before the Committee was often a shambles), McCain’s unrelenting obsession with the grievance that Obama has come to represent to him is the saddest legacy in memory. The very fact of Obama and all things Obamic has turned McCain into something toxic, maybe even to himself.
Sometimes I think the GOP wants McCain to grab as many headlines as possible to show America he is still alive. The GOP knows everyone sees through Sarah, knows Sarah destroyed their credibility, and wants to make damn sure Americans can see Sarah was never one seventy-year-old heartbeat away from the Oval Office.
Very true. 895th out of 899 students in his class at the naval academy. Had it not been for his father and grandfather, this old turd would have been court martialed long ago. He destroyed 5 jet planes, shot down because he disobeyed orders to return to base. Made a career out of being a POW, when much better men kept their valor quiet. He is a world class bastard.
Too bad if he dies or goes complete senile, uses the "no remember" excuse.
He does have the Pentagon, Dept of Defense et al behind him. They won't admit their part in all things McCain. They would throw Todd Palin under the bus in a nano second, not so for McCain.
So very sad how someone so wildly famous around the world - even for a short time - could throw away such incredible opportunity to help change the world.

Senate Democrats Achieve 60 Votes For Violence Against Women Act
Next up in the Senate: The Violence Against Women Act.
Senate Democrats have achieved the 60 votes necessary to bypass a filibuster and reauthorize the domestic violence legislation.
“JUST TOPPED ‘magic number’ of 60 bipartisan cosponsors of my #VAWA legisl.; We’re moving briskly toward Senate vote on the Leahy-Crapo Bill,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT) wrote Thursday afternoon on Twitter.
The seven Republicans who have joined 53 Democrats in support of to the legislation are Sens. Kelly Ayotte (NH), Susan Collins (ME), Mike Crapo (ID), Dean Heller (NV), Mark Kirk (IL), Jerry Moran (KS) and Lisa Murkowski (AK).
A floor vote is expected as early as next week.
“The Leahy-Crapo VAWA bill seeks to protect all victims of domestic and sexual violence, including tribal women, college students, and members of the LGBT community,” Leahy said in a statement Friday. “For nearly 20 years, the programs supported by VAWA have been a lifeline to so many. They deserve swift action in Congress.”
VAWA originally passed in 1994 and was reauthorized without incident in 2000 and 2005. It expired in 2011 but has continued to receive funds. The reauthorization has fallen prey to disputes between a Senate supermajority and House Republicans on whether to expand coverage to gays, illegal immigrants, college students and Native Americans.
Just another in a long list of failures, starting with that initial ass whipping that she got at the hands of that lovely Miss Alaska, Marylin Blackburn back in 1984. Definition of insanity(and in this case stupidity)= Continuing to do the same dumb ass thing, and expecting a different result. Failure, thy name is Palin, or if you prefer, BITCH.
OT BIG NEWS!!! Scott Brown not running for Senate again!! YAY! I live in MA and they just interrupted programming to announce that he won't run again for Sen. Kerry's open seat. Floating Bill Weld as a possible R candidate!!
I think this is absolutely wonderful that Palin has gone down. It took a long while for the majority to determine who the woman REALLY is and has always been. She's a liar and fraud - no doubt about it. I so hope the truth about the birth of that child comes out as well as investigations of both her and Todd (the pimp!).
It's a joy not hearing anything from any of them anymore - Sarah - Todd and Bristol. She'll never be able to run for a governmental spot again - too much negative out there about her that she'll never live down.
Timothy Egan, award-winning author and New York Times man-out-West, argues that the poisonous influence of the far-right media -- including Matt Drudge, Rush Limbaugh and Fox News -- is on the wane:
This takes the conventional wisdom about the 2012 elections -- that conservatives are withering in a new era of "Barack Obama, gay marriage, weed, and a new focus on climate change" -- and applies it to the media. There's a great deal of truth to that: As Egan notes, and as we've reported, Fox News hit a 12-year-low in the key demo recently and Drudge accounts for a mere two percent of the nation's political media diet.
Unfortunately part of the blame for the rise and power of the crazy right-wing media belongs at the feet of the mainstream media, New York Times that means you, for not taking the lies and the hysteria on and putting the right-wing in its place. The New York Times and the New Yorker flirted and danced around Sarah Palin and her ilk for far too long. Now that Fox News has let her go, the mainstream media is willing to criticize speak critically about her. Beaglemom
It's still beyond ludicrous that idiot McCain and his team could EVER think that Hillary supporters would just switch streams and go for Palin in 2008. I think about the only thing they have in common is that they are both female...beyond that, Sarah fades into nothingness and utter and complete inadequacy next to Hillary.
That's why Sarah won't make a peep about a run in 2016. She would be politically slaughtered in a heartbeat by a sentence or two from Hillary.
SOS Clinton has represented this country so well in the last four years. Here's a photo collection of her travels.
Americans Care Less About Sarah Palin Than Ever Before
According to Google, Americans have had it with Sarah Palin.
After Fox News announced earlier this week that it wouldn't be renewing its contract with the former Republican vice presidential candidate, the death of Palin stories started rolling in. The Daily Beast called it the "end of the line" for the former Alaska governor, while Washington Post wrote what appeared to be a career obituary called "What Sarah Palin meant." Philadelphia Magazine took it upon itself to dole out advice about how she could still make a comeback.
But is the Mama Grizzly truly done for? Google Insights for Search suggests so.
I could never figure out how anyone could like Sarah Palin. The very first moment I saw her spewing her venom at the RNC, I took a visceral dislike to her. Her comment about the community organizer sealed the deal for me. Her joke about a pit bull and lipstick only made me look at her lips and I thoroughly disliked her big mouth and her upper lip for some reason.
After fired by Fox I hope she is under FBI investigation for all her "gates."
