"Thanks, wait what?"
Kind of makes you wonder exactly what Mike Pence thought would happen when he joined this ticket?
Pence did a good job by winning over every graduate of Norwood University.

ReplyDeleteI don't think Pence cares much about Trump. I think he's positioning himself to replace Ted Cruz in 2020 as the go-to ultraconservative super deluxe brand Xtian. That's why I wish Kaine would have gone after his record in Indiana more than he did.
ReplyDeleteYes, absolutely.
DeleteWhy are the apparently revered Founding fathers’ lines — including “separation of church and state” -- not used all the time by Democrats, using the very words of the FFs? Would it not be like quoting from the alt-right’s own precious, inerrant Bible?
That vid of those two Trumpette women in red who said, “Trump is God come down to save us,” are conflating religion with politics which makes Trump inerrant. It will end in bullets: righteous defense in the Name of God.
And, while we're at it -- what about “All men are created equal” ?...that seems to have been ignored as well by these pious misogynist racists.
ReplyDeleteThe Veep Debate Told Us One Important Thing About A Trump Presidency
Mike Pence would have power in a Trump White House — and he’d use it.
...Except for a handful of high-profile causes, like immigration and trade, Trump is likely to delegate a lot of the governing to his vice president ― and in many cases, simply defer to his vice president’s judgment.
That could unleash a torrent of conservative legislation.
An election that puts Trump and Pence in the West Wing almost certainly leaves Republicans in charge of Congress. House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could work quickly to pass legislation of mutual interest and, in Pence, they’d find a powerful vice president almost entirely in synch with their interests.
Remember, before becoming governor, Pence was a leader in the Republican House, where, as chairman of the Republican Study Committee, he was directly involved in crafting policy proposals for the conservative wing of the caucus. He’s got a long record of advocating ultra-conservative policy, on both economic issues (he once championed Social Security privatization) and social issues (he’s a strong opponent of abortion rights).

His ideas about foreign policy and other issues are simplistic, and obviously without any critical thinking. Above all, he has clear character issues, and is unfit to hold office. They are speaking out because they know he is dangerous and even though they might disagree with Clinton on policy, they find her temperamentally fit for the office.

I agree that if Trump wins Pence will be the acting president. That is scary all on its own. Pence is an Evangelical. He will acknowledge his basic religious beliefs but after reading about some of his background, I am afraid he is one that would like to run the government according to the ten commandments. Scary!!! Where is the separation of church and state? You know Trump doesn't care as long as his face is front and center in any camera.

"Donald Trump graciously accepted credit for the Tuesday night debate performance of his running mate, Mike Pence.
“Mike Pence did an incredible job and I’m getting a lot of credit because that’s really my first so-called choice,” the GOP presidential nominee said Wednesday at a rally in Henderson, Nevada.
“That was my first hire, as we would say in Las Vegas, and I’ll tell you he was a good one,” Trump said."
“I’d argue that Mike had the single most decisive victory in the history of vice presidential debates,” Trump said. “And last night America also got to look firsthand at my judgment.”
That's right. While Pence was claiming they didn't have a hate campaign, Trump was busily tweeting insults about Tim Kaine. Pence is winning the debate by basically making Trump disappear and denying everything he says, Trump is busy claiming victory for choosing Mike Pence.
You just can't make this stuff up.
Meanwhile, Hillary's numbers are going up, so let Mike Pence claim he won the debate....but lost the election.
