The National Enquirer has taken a swing at President Donald Trump‘s embattled attorney, Michael Cohen.
The tabloid has long had a reputation of serving as Trump’s media fixer, running salacious headlines such as “Hillary Framed Trump Family!” and “Proof! FBI Plot to Impeach Trump!” however, it is the first time it has turned on Trump’s legal fixer, Cohen.
The publication’s parent company, American Media Inc., run by Trump-pal David Pecker, is also currently being sued by Playboy model Karen McDougal. She claims that AMI offered to buy the story of her alleged affair with Trump for $150,000, to then not publish it — known as a catch and kill agreement.
The headline of the Enquirer’s latest cover, which reads “Trump Fixer’s Secrets and Lies!” also comes in the wake of Trump attempting to distance himself from his longtime attorney.
Make no mistake, if the National Enquirer has turned on Trump's fixer, that is because Donald Trump gave them the go ahead to do so.
Which means that Trump is tossing Cohen under the bus, and any loyalty that Cohen might feel toward his boss is completely misplaced.
So now we just have to wait and see how long it takes before Cohen and Mueller come together for their version of "Let's Make a Deal."

The WH gets calls for comment from reporters about stuff before it gets published and that sometimes gives him a heads up. Plus his attorneys might be getting info that hasn't leaked. All the leaks come from the trump team, and they would clearly not want this out there because it would be too damning. Team mueller isn't leaking so if a deal is made with Cohen, we won't know until something moves forward.

Cohen has most likely flipped already. The deal for him is probably that he gets to be in a white-collar-crime prison, IOW, a 'resort' prison, with no locked doors, and free in-and-out privileges. Or one, where he will be protected from the main population, maybe in a solitary cell with all the bodily comforts.

Perhaps the best explanation is also the most cynical one: their motivations for supporting Trump have nothing to do with religion or spirituality but are all about obtaining and keeping political power.
Recently NPR reported that a group of Evangelical leaders is extremely concerned about the effect that Trump’s scandals will have on the midterm elections. Because they are totally committed to seeing Republicans stay in power, many (tax-exempt) religious organizations have done everything possible to help GOP candidates get elected — including Trump.
So what disturbs these Evangelicals about Trump is not his immorality or dishonesty but the fact that he may hurt Republican chances of keeping control of Congress.

He was sunk even before someone tipped off the Senate committee vetting him that there were alleged troubles in his personal life. Trump made one of the dumbest nominations of all time, and then he had terrible luck on top of it. Yet the result of all this is that Trump now has something to hit Tester over the head with as he heads into a tricky reelection race that could swing the balance of power in the Senate in November.
...When you consider that Jon Tester is a Democrat in a red state, and that he’s arguably the only Democratic Senator who’s vulnerable in November, you have to ask what the odds are of all this being a coincidence. Trump nominated a guy who was guaranteed to fail, but who was going to be vetted by a committee where Tester plays a powerful role. Tester then got fed all these accusations about the nominee, some of which appear to be true, and all of which he was duty bound to investigate, and two of those accusations just happened to be tailor made to be disproven, but not until after Tester was married to it.
...If Donald Trump nominated Ronny Jackson to run the VA, just so he could leak a mix of true and false claims about Jackson to Jon Tester, just so some of those accusations could be disproven, just so Trump could then attack Tester for having supposedly smeared Jackson, in order to create a scandal for Tester as he heads into reelection, then whoever came up with it is brilliantly evil. Trump isn’t half that smart. He doesn’t seem to have any remaining advisers smart enough to have come up with it. But either Trump saw a stupid move turn into a monumentally lucky break, or someone masterminded this to work out the way it did.

Trump failed badly on sanctions last summer, and right after that, Donald Trump Jr’s meeting with the Russians conveniently leaked to the media. At the time, Palmer Report asked the question of whether Putin might have leaked it, in order to hurt Trump Jr, as a way of trying to motivate Trump Sr to find a way to reduce sanctions.
Now that Donald Trump has recently blown it on Russian sanctions yet again, suddenly the Russian lawyer who conspired with Donald Trump Jr is on NBC News loudly admitting that she’s really a Russian spy. Did Vladimir Putin tell her to do this as a way of punishing Trump Sr by further harming Trump Jr? Or has Putin just given up on Trump entirely, and decided to begin finishing him off?
