Trump's Twitter targets for today, the WHCD and Michelle Wolf.

I would just first like to point out that if Trump thinks he is hurting Michelle Wolf's career in any way by going after her on Twitter he is dead wrong.

She is launching a new show on Netflix, and she has just gone from a comedian that only a few people know about, to a national figure who is the subject of tweets by the president of the United States.

There is no way this hurts her professionally.

And that goes for the attacks by the conservatives, and some self identified "liberals," as well.

Which by the way are completely without merit.

Courtesy of Vulture:

As soon as Michelle Wolf finished delivering her blistering White House Correspondents’ Dinner roast of the Trump administration and the members of the press that cover it, she was, not surprisingly, criticized for much of what she said. Oddly, however, a lot of that criticism zeroed in on something that Michelle Wolf did not actually say: a joke about Sarah Huckabee Sanders’s appearance.

The two jokes that seemed to irk critics were her Handmaid’s Tale dig — “I have to say I’m a little starstruck. I love you as Aunt Lydia in The Handmaid’s Tale” — and the aforementioned line about Sanders’s smoky eye, which went like this: “I actually really like Sarah. I think she’s very resourceful. She burns facts, and then she uses the ash to create a perfect smoky eye. Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies. It’s probably lies.”

Somehow this was misconstrued to be an attack on Huckabee Sander's appearance, which it clearly was not.

In stead it was an attack on her honesty, which, let's face it, was more than appropriate.

However both conservatives and some in the media spouted their faux outrage all over Twitter.
And of course Mika Brzezinski also had to give her two cents.
All of this seemed to puzzle Michelle Wolf who responded with this:

Look if you are a conservative then misrepresenting the facts and participating in faux outrage is kinda what you do.

But if you are supposed to be a "journalist" of some kind you are expected to adhere to the facts, and there were several media types who failed to meet that expectation.

And like I said all of this does nothing but help Michelle Wolf's career, and ensure that when her Netflix show drops on May 27 that it will have a lot more folks tuned in.

So keep it up conservatives (And Mika Brzezinski) cause all it does is put money in her pockets.

'“Yeah, I take the apology back. F*ck him,"'

'“If you want to have a real conversation about the White House Correspondents’ dinner, about the tenor of what happened there about the tone, about civility, we also have got to condemn and look at what he’s doing, because you see, I can’t bring myself to hold comedian for one night to a higher standard than we hold the president of the United States for his entire term.”'
"when Trump asked if there were any Hispanics in the room “the entire crowd bOOed at the mention of Hispanics.”"

  2. Anonymous8:38 AM

I'd like to ask Mika Brzezinski what being a wife and mother has to do with anything. Do single, childfree women deserve to be mocked? For your information, Hillary Clinton has been a wife and mother for over thirty years and yet you've never passed up a chance to pile on to the hate that Hillary has graciously borne over the decades. Fuck you!

    1. Anonymous10:00 AM

EXACTLY 8:38!! I’m tired of Mika and her righteousness. She and Joe were instrumental in promoting our current President (?) to the highest office in the land. OWN IT!

    2. Anonymous12:54 PM

Mica and Joe consistently kissed twitlers ass in the 2016 election. She has alot of room to talk. What has Sarah's being a wife and Mm got to do with Anything? She is a mean belittling liar . I wish MF had gone after her even more.

  3. Anonymous8:40 AM

Fuck Donald Trump! He didn't even have the balls to show up to the function because he can't take a joke!

I thought the comedian did an outstanding job - laughed like heck throughout her dialogue. Republicans deserved every bit of her commentary and so did Huckabee Sanders who spreads hate, fear and lies on a daily basis - just like her boss!

  4. Anonymous8:43 AM

So, Mika feels badly for Huckee Sanders? Give me a friggin' break! She's playing into this subject to try and increase her ratings.

So, now she and Joe support and love the Donald and his mini-me, Huckabee Sanders? Will never watch their show again.

  5. Anonymous8:50 AM

    OT? Bet NOT Megyn:
“It’s good to remind people that in this #MeToo movement, you have this umbrella of allegations that fall within it,” NBC correspondent Stephanie Gosk told Kelly. “And they go everywhere from first degree rape all the way to the allegations. And it’s a reminder for everyone, as you sit here and try to go through all of this and come up with your own opinion on it, each case is different and should be considered on a case by case basis.”

Kelly suggested that Clinton was partially to blame because she said that all women accusers should be believed except those who accused her husband of sexual misconduct.

“That’s the thing,” Kelly explained. “You know, back during the presidential race, Hillary Clinton came out and said, I believe every accuser should be believed — like, except those accusing her husband.”

The quip earned Kelly a mix of laughter and groans from the audience."

    1. Anonymous9:44 AM

Plus, it's a misquote from Kelly! Check the facts! Don't watch her and increase her ratings. She's deplorable too!

  6. Poor widdle whiny Drumpf can dish but can't take it.

The real disgrace is his fat, Orange ass in the WH and Sanders-Huckabully lying her ass for him.

    1. Scratch a bully....find a coward.

  7. Anonymous9:24 AM

I loved it when Wolf stage-whispered "... you should have done more research..." because, if you've watched her on The Daily Show, you know that she is not going to hold back her rapier wit.

MSNBC Demolishes Trump With Awesome Iran Deal Fact Check

MSNBC’s Ali Velshi cut through the administration’s lies and rhetoric and delivered the facts on the Iran deal that Trump appears to be allergic to uttering.

  9. Anonymous9:42 AM

Sorry, Wolf's harsh voice is almost as bad as Palin. Wolf needs to put more air into her voice. She is intermittently funny. I laughed a few times, but overall -- meh.

There was nothing the Republicans haven't said much worse. Now they are lying about what Wolf said. So tiring.

    1. Anonymous10:32 AM

Very much enjoyed Wolf at the Correspondence Dinner. She was spot on in her dialog and as anti Trump and Huckabee as was appropriate.

The negative Trump and Republicans are putting out there isn't going to work or demolish the career of Wolf. Americans are sick and tired of Trump, Huckabee, Pence and many others (still left!) in his administration.

    2. Anonymous1:50 PM

Wolf reminds me of the kind of person that totally annoys you just being within a 10 foot proximity, like the annoying person that is either right behind you or right ahead of you at a salad bar.

  10. Anonymous9:57 AM

If she wanted to make fun of Sarah Huck a Liars looks, she could have made a joke about her wonky eye.

Republicans have no sense of humor and trump's "jokes" are just mean spirited and nasty.

Michelle just has to hang in there a couple of hours and trump will trash someone else and the "outrage" will move on.

  11. Anonymous10:10 AM

When it gets down to having to use violence, then you are playing the system’s game. The establishment will make you fight. Because once they’ve got you violent, they know how to handle you. The only thing they don’t know how to handle is non-violence and humor.

  12. Anonymous10:15 AM

George Carlin would have tweeted congratulations to Michelle Wolf for her glorious take-down of a robber administration.

    1. Anonymous1:51 PM

      Uh, doubtful.

      George Carlin was actually funny.

  15. David Frum pretty much nails it-

Wolf only did what the WH does constantly.

  16. Anonymous11:07 AM

"Mika" is actually the Olde English word for:
    "its 2am, she'll do, I guess."

  17. Anonymous11:11 AM

"Mika" also means "too stupid to f$ck" in like fifty languages.

  18. Anonymous11:23 AM

The reason people thought her comment to be about sander's looks is that they misunderstood the word facts to be fats. Burning fats. In other words, she's fat.

  19. Anonymous11:25 AM

The real reason Michelle Wolf is under attack is because her Sarah Sanders jokes are true
Sarah Huckabee Sanders can dish it, but Republicans can’t take it.

Stormy Daniels Files Suit Against Trump Over ‘False And Defamatory’ Tweet

The adult film star says one of Trump’s tweets has exposed her to “contempt, ridicule... and physical threats of violence.”

    1. Anonymous2:33 PM

"Clifford’s attorney, Michael Avenatti, said, “Regardless of who you are or what position you hold, you are not permitted to fabricate statements in an effort to deceive people. There are consequences for doing that.”

Trump’s own lawyers and advisors tried to warn him for years that his tweeting habit was going to get him sued, and now it has happened. "

", never knew anything about the $130,000 payment which is the nonsense he’s trying to sell the American people, how would he know whether the guy was nonexistent or not? What’s his basis for that?” " Stormy Daniels is going to get Trump under oath and sink what’s left of his dying presidency."

Journalists Push Back On Correspondents’ Association’s Response To Michelle Wolf

Some say the White House Correspondents’ Association president’s criticism of the comedian failed to recognize what the First Amendment is all about.

Many in the media complained that Talev’s statement contradicts press freedom, and pointed out that Wolf’s performance took equal-opportunity jabs at White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, among others. They also noted that Talev’s disassociation from the comedian she said she picked herself for the performance ― who arguably did what she was hired to do ― questions the whole point of the White House Correspondents’ dinner:

'Every year, I see @whca attendees tweeting about how the dinner is about celebrating the First Amendment. That is sanctimonious enough. But this statement reveals anew what nonsense that is. This is performative rubbish, and I hope that next year’s comedian ridicules them for it.'

    1. Anonymous1:04 PM

'Dear Margaret Talev: You said you hired Wolf because she "was provocative and had a message." Well, she was provocative and she did have a message and she delivered! Now, what's your problem?'

'Ms. Talev must have been shocked that the speaker called out her constituents as (partly) responsible for the problem. Ms. Wolf called out the media explicitly for condoning and covering POTUS' bad behavior in the name of ratings.

Then she closed the evening with "Flint does still not have clean water".

That story is important because people are being sickened and injured by an insensitive government... but it just doesn't bring in the ratings, so it does not get covered.

Michelle - you did not cross the line. You shone the light where others would not.'

'"...arguably did what she was hired to do..."

"Arguably"???? Really? She absolutely did what she was hired to do. There's no way anyone can convince me that the WHCA hired Wolf knowing NOTHING about her act.
Why on Earth would any apology be needed when we have a "President" who routinely insults, mocks, falsely accuses and denigrates people for their looks, heritage, names and anything else he can find to use to attack someone? Shame on Margaret Talev.'

'The real fly in this ointment is that even before Michelle was invited the people who did the inviting knew her schtick. At the correspondent’s dinner she did her thing, exactly what everyone expected. Afterward, a few people put on their wings and halos and criticized the exact thing they were craving.'

'Michelle held up a mirror to the truth ... and if the Trump administration thinks the truth in an insult, then they should change their behavior.'

  22. Anonymous12:30 PM

And so resumes the media's attempt to normalize Trumpism, all in the quest for access and ratings....

Seth Meyers Recalls The Correspondents’ Dinner When He Torched Trump

Talk show host Seth Meyers on Monday posted a sardonic response to President Donald Trump’s attack on this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner that included a mention of Meyers’ 2011 performance at the gathering — which some say helped stir Trump’s presidential ambitions.

In a tweet on Sunday, Trump criticized the controversial comic routine by the entertainer at Saturday’s dinner, Michelle Wolf, and called it even worse than Meyers’ “weak performance.” Meyers cheekily responded by commemorating the “anniversary.”

    1. Anonymous1:54 PM

Seth Meyers is the biggest twerp to ever be on TV. He has neither personality or balls. And he simply isn't funny. Didn't he cry for his mommy when Hillary totally failed?

"The way the press corps treats the brilliant comedians it hires is an old joke by now, and we all know the punch lines. In 2016, when Larry Wilmore tore into the cable news industry’s history of racist coverage and greeted President Obama in a manner some took offense to, he was deemed to have gone “too far.” In 2006, Steven Colbert mercilessly mocked President George W. Bush from just feet away. Yet that now legendary performance was very poorly received at the time.

I went back to watch the video again: The assembled press squirms in their seats, barely laughing as Mr. Colbert drops bomb after bomb of brilliant satire. The reviews that followed were just as scathing as those Ms. Wolf received: The Washington Post’s Richard Cohen wrote that Mr. Colbert was “not funny” and “rude”; the New York Observer’s Chris Lehmann said that his “timing was dreadfully off”; Representative Steny H. Hoyer said that the comedian had “crossed the line.” In response, the next year the White House Correspondents’ Association booked the celebrity impressionist and sexagenarian Rich Little, who did Johnny Carson impressions while President Bush happily smiled. So much for satire."

But, perhaps aside from Phyllis Diller, they were really more known for their comedy acting, not standup.

Sorry for the offense. But I can't think of one current female stand up comedian that is even comes close to the dudes.

It is confounding to me how people have piled on Michele Wolff that she made fun of Sarah Sanders “looks”. Since a smoky eye is a style of makeup I wonder if these reactions are truly from people who judge Sarah’s style choice negatively.

Why are these people avoiding the topic that Wolff made fun of how much she lies? Wolfe burned Sanders on that. If Sanders is so religious, offended by the crude jokes why work for a thrice married leacherous man? She chose the prominent job for the pussy grabber.

Constructive criticism Sarah: have a jeweler lengthen your pearl necklace that sits accentuating your thick neck.
