Obama campaign field office in Denver hit by gunfire.

Courtesy of the Denver Post:

Police say someone fired a shot at an Obama campaign field office in Denver on Friday afternoon.

No one was injured, though people were inside the office when the incident occurred, said Denver police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez.

"It looks like it was one shot that was fired into the structure," she said.

The incident happened about 3 p.m. at the campaign's office on West Ninth Avenue near Acoma Street, Lopez said.

Personally I think we are going to see a whole lot more of this kind of thing as we move closer to November  6, and most likely even more once the President is reelected. It's going to get bad.

last night I had to watch slack jaw as Ann Coulter denied that there was any racism in America, while appearing on Real Time. Now I know that skinny ass bitch is carrying a dumtruck load of shit in her head, but THAT was a stunning example of bullshit even for somebody who makes a habit of spreading Right Wing bullshit for a living.

By the way I guess we can assume that THIS guy did not get the memo about the end of racism in America.

Yeah, nothing racist about that!

No, Mr. Ryan, Voters and Legislatures Should NOT Make Medical Decisions for Women

It's pretty well established now that Paul Ryan was out of league, and that Joe Biden ran circles around Mr. P90X. But this was the most chilling moment of the debate:

    VIDEO

Let me reiterate Ryan's response to the question as to whether those who believe abortion should remain safe and legal in this country should be concerned should Ryan and Romney be elected: Yes.

RADDATZ: I want to go back to the abortion question here. If the Romney-Ryan ticket is elected, should those who believe that abortion should remain legal be worried?

RYAN: We don’t think that unelected judges should make this decision; that people through their elected representatives in reaching a consensus in society through the democratic process should make this determination.
No. No, no, no, no, no. People through their elected representatives should NOT make decisions about individual rights, individual medical procedures and individuals' private lives. You do not get to vote on what another person can do with their own body. You do not get to vote on screwing with other people's rights. That is not democracy, Congressman Ryan, That is mob rule.

...This is what Paul Ryan and the anti-choice Right don't get. They talk a good game about freedom and liberty, but have no trouble subjugating the rights of women and gays and immigrants to the whim of voters. The truth is that if Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney get elected, you can kiss Roe v. Wade goodbye. The truth is that if they are elected, they will appoint judges who will overturn it, and they will push for an amendment to the Constitution that not only will ban abortions but will make it a crime. The truth is that, as Ryan said, they think that the most fundamental right of a person - to be secure in their person, which is to say to control their own body - should be put up for a vote.

Bingo. Just how does the revocation of decisions that protect the right to choose protect liberty and the, um, right to choose?

The question I had over Ryan's comment that unelected judges should not make those decisions, is what exactly does Ryan think the responsibility of the Supreme Court then should be? I know of no way he can get around the Supreme Court and their rulings. Does he plan on getting rid of the court, which of course would be unconstitutional. His comment that these types of decisions should not be up to unelected judges makes absolutely no sense.

  2. I’d tell people like that to move to Scandinavia, but the Scandinavians wouldn’t be very nice to them…

What a loser; even Anders Behring Breivik wouldn’t give him the time of day.

    Little jerk.

That gunshot could have killed someone in President's Campaign Office and I'm grateful it didn't. They'll probably never catch the culprit because they think the shot was fired from a car.

I hope this type stuff doesn't continue when President Obama is reelected. I worry for our President and his wife...

Racists and the extreme right Republicans are a frightening bunch in America today. But, then when you reflect in history - they have always been.

Get out and vote in November and encourage others to do so! Volunteer to take others to the polls. Most people I know - that were undecided - are going w/Obama and Biden. They are sick of the lies and back and forth messages displayed by Romney and Ryan. Thank God we have everything on tape for proof sources. The Biden Debate put the voting in Obama's direction from those that I've talked to. Yea!!!!

There's still the vote tampering. Fixed voting machines, disqualifying legitimate voters, things like that. We need a landslide for the President.

I received my Absentee Ballot yesterday and marked my preferences today. It felt so damned good to vote for OBAMA/BIDEN again!! I was actually gleeful in doing so!

We'll be voting by absentee ballot next week once we figure out the local ballot issues. i hate how they word these proposals; if you want "yes" you frequently have to choose "no." Good grief!
We will, however, be happily and proudly voting a straight Democratic ticket once again. As far as I'm concerned there will never be a Republican candidate for any office who will be worthy on my vote!

That's frightening. What's frightening, also, is the increase in Romney/Ryan yard signs and bumper stickers I've noticed in my neighborhood/city. Folks, it's going downhill, I'm afraid for progressives.. I'm truly concerned and afraid.

No signs in my neighborhood except for the Mormons across the street have their Romney sign inside the window..you can hardly see it. But driving though some older neighborhoods going to Safeway today there were lots of Romney signs..I think people are afraid to put out Obama signs...sad!!

I am afraid I agree with the shooting thing....2008 was bad enough but the real nutjobs have been fired up more than ever. They are encouraged day and night by Fox and radio and sure as shit they will blame everybody else if something bad happens. This T Shirt is below shame, I can't believe even the McCain campaign would have allowed this...Palin yes, but McCain no. You missed another biggy by Miss Ann...she is adamant that Robme has remained true to everything he ever said...flip flops? Absurd you say...never happened. I give tons of credit to Bill just like Jon, how they maintain a civil tongue when faced with such obvious bullshit.

This week is gonna be great...Tues debate, then Thursday is Daily Show and the Smith Memorial bash. If you remember last year...McCain did hold his own with good smart humor but Obama nailed it, can you imagine Mitt with a speech of just humor??? I have seen the best cartoons on the Obama Diary....esp Ryan in a high chair, its always Cagle that absolutely nails it, he is a national treasure.

"We’re to believe this is just a coincidence?"

Did Paul Ryan “borrow” story about his daughter from Kurt Cobain?

      Good Catch!

      In a similar vain,

New Yorker has a great blog post about the term "bean" relating to pro choice vs pro life. Interesting take on Ryan's stance on abortion vs Joe Biden's.

Yup! I thought the same thing thirty seconds after reading about the bean comment. I even posted my observation in the veep debate section on this blog.

Ps -- im annoyed. Where are all the stories about Romney's debate cheat sheet?

I wrote my comment on the previous post before reading this. Shots fired. Buckle up, kiddies, it's gonna be a bumpy, scary, sick ride. Brought to you by the same journalists who could have raised the dialogue instead of fanning the flames.
