"I sympathize with Mrs. Sheehan," Bush said. "She feels strongly about her position, and she has every right in the world to say what she believes. This is America. She has a right to her position, and I thought long and hard about her position. I've heard her position from others, which is: Get out of Iraq now. And it would be a mistake for the security of this country and the ability to lay the foundations for peace in the long run if we were to do so."
What he does not address is the issue that is riveting most of us to Cindy's cause and that is to hear him answer her questions about why we went to Iraq. I do believe that Cindy is prepared to ask him about the Downy Memo's and other intelligence that show that there was at least some doubt that the reasons given were believable. Any news agency that can broadcast that exchange will have the highest ratings of the summer!
Good point. We also posted on this.
ReplyDeleteI think the most telling point is when he said....." I have heard of her point from OTHERS"...it was a rather pathetic little dusty side of the road press conference.
ReplyDeleteHe looked VERY peevish, and uncomfortable. I mean we know that he and Turd Blossum have been praying for a distraction from RoveGate, and DSMgate, and PlameGate...but greiving moms in the back yard?!!!
I mean he couldn't walk down the road to her Ditch Side Tent - Camp Casey and speak to her?
What a Chicken Shit. I hope 1000's of moms flock to Camp Casey and Vets too- it is time he was
confronted on his own damn turf....by Patriotic Citizens with Real Pain- Pain he caused.
