National Guard admits that Iraq war hurt rescue effort.

''In the four years since 9/11 that we have been at war, equipment has been beaten up, blown up, or simply left behind," said John Goheen of the National Guard Association of the United States. ''States have had to borrow equipment and make do with a lot less equipment. We are short literally thousands of Humvees."

Meanwhile, in Louisiana and Mississippi, the states hit hardest by the hurricane, up to 40 percent of their National Guard troops are on active duty in Iraq. As a result, Guard commanders responding to the storm's havoc have been forced to look further afield for military police and other National Guard units and equipment from states as far away as Maryland, stealing precious time from the relief efforts.

I hope that Americans are awake enough, and angry enough, to hold this administration responsible. Don't let them spin this to make it seem that the victims were at fault, or that there was no ways of knowing how bad it would be, because that is an outright lie. All of the information was available. The news let me know, and anybody paying attention, that this storm had the potential of doing catastrophic damage. If I knew that, then how is it possible that the administration did not know that?

And the similarities between this and the intelligence leading up to the Iraq war should be apparent to everybody now as well. This group of baboons do not pay any attention to the things that don't fit what they want to believe. And in this case it cost thousands ofAmerican lives. When you are responsible for people's lives you do not get to choose what you will or will not believe! You respond to the Goddamn facts.

This administration committed a crime! I hope to hell they pay for it!
