Senator Rick Santorum is criticizing the government's emergency response to hurricane victims hurricane Katrina victims. But he's also criticizing the ones who chose to ride out the storm. I mean, you have people who don't heed those warnings and then put people at risk as a result of not heeding those warnings. There may be a need to look at tougher penalties on those who decide to ride it out and understand that there are consequences to not leaving.

What possible penalty does Santorum have in mind? They lost their homes, their jobs, their families, and their dignity! What more does the senator want from them? Does he have any inkling as to what horror these people have been through? Blaming the victims is the lowest thing that any so-called human could ever do at this point. I think it is time that this senator get sent back to the private sector along with every other asshole who thinks that heaping further punishment on these victims is a reasonable course of action.
