Okay now no disrespect to Mr. Bacharach, after all I loved "Raindrops keep falling on my head" when I was very young, but I was kind of hoping for either some established Vietnam era folk singer or a new, fresh, young lion to rise up and be the voice of the anti-war movement.
But at least Burt is doing something! He at least is going public with his fears and concerns. Where the hell is everybody else? How can anybody stay silent in this day and age? I don't write on this thing daily because it gets me laid. (Trust me if it did, I would post much, much more often!)
So maybe I will buy this album just to show my support for this type of politically motivated music.
"Raindrops keep falling on my head, just like the man who's feet are too big for his bed!" See I still know the words!
I was wondering the same thing.
ReplyDeleteYou do hear occasionally about
the Dixie Chicks, Joan Baez, etc.
but there doesn't seem to be the
same level of involvement from
music community as we saw during
the vietnam era.
It is a sad statement about the
times we live in.
