One has to wonder just what prayers the President of the most powerful country in the world needs.Pray for our troops as they continue to serve faithfully, particularly during this difficult time of year, asking God to strengthen and protect every member of the military abroad and at home.
Oh! Well that is a good idea. It saves having to spend all of that money on body armor. Who needs it when you have God watching their back?
Pray especially for those who have lost loved ones as they face the Christmas season for the first time, asking God to comfort and care for each one in their loss. Pray for the children who now face life without a parent, and for those who will step up to provide comfort, love and support for them.
"Don't cry Timmy. Your father died in a noble cause killing heathens in an oil rich nation just brimming with possibilities for Haliburton and other American companies. And don't worry about all of those death benefits that we cut from the budget because God is going to take good care of you. And by the way Timmy when you grow up we will be happy to give you a free college education in exhange for several pints of your blood spilled in a foreign land to ensure our profi....uh freedom."
Here is my favorite bit of hypocrisy.
“Peace on earth, good will toward men”
The idea that these guys can say this with a straight face makes my damn skin crawl.
