Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald is not expected to shut down his investigation into the leak of covert CIA officer Valerie Plame Wilson when he finishes his inquiry of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove's role in the leak, lawyers close to the probe said.Individuals close to the probe say Fitzgerald is still investigating other unnamed White House officials. This part of the investigation, like that of Rove, is focusing on whether these officials committed perjury, obstruction of justice or lied to federal investigators during the early days of the investigation -- as opposed to violating an obscure law which makes it a crime to knowingly leak the name of an undercover CIA operative -- they say.
Hee hee hee! Who do you think the "unnamed White House officials"are? It has got to be Cheney! Or...it could be....dare I say it....Bush! Is that even possible? Could Bush be tried for perjury? No way my life could go that well. Maybe if I asked Santa.

GREAT POST.... and I think you are definently on to something here....hmmm,Cheney..ahh , a girl can dream right? ....I think we need to invent a Board game (kind of like Clue) about the GOP corruption, I haven't thought any further...but I will over Christmas...It think the Fitz sticking point is that BOTH offices are involved- Dick and Dubya, I have this little suspicion that there might be some finger pointing going on- "No, he Started it".."No, he was the first to start the Leak"....And I hate to say this but it looks like Bushie and Dick are NOT getting Anything that they wanted...Cheney rushed home to break a vote ( aka screw the poor)....and NO TO ANWAR....( Teddy Stevens must be stroking out somewhere????) ...Merry X-Mas :)

On another note the Aramhoff case might be heading to deal...this might be good, and free up some pressure off Fitz's case...( and yes , folks there is overlap for Mr Rove and his Assitant- Susan Ralston- remember those names over the next few monthes...she was Casino' Jack's assistant first...and just loved handling Indian Affairs for both of them.....)
