President Bush admits allowing the government to eavesdrop on it citizens. But don't worry he did it to "protect" my freedom.

President Bush said Saturday he personally has authorized a secret eavesdropping program in the U.S. more than 30 times since the Sept. 11 attacks and he lashed out at those involved in publicly revealing the program.

"This is a highly classified program that is crucial to our national security," he said in a radio address delivered live from the White House's Roosevelt Room.

"This authorization is a vital tool in our war against the terrorists. It is critical to saving American lives. The American people expect me to do everything in my power, under our laws and Constitution, to protect them and their civil liberties and that is exactly what I will continue to do as long as I am president of the United States," Bush said.

Does this guy even know the definition of freedom? Freedom means doing what we want without fear. Sending e-mails that are private. Checking out books from the library and not being concerned that somebody is checking to see what I am reading. Making a phone call to a friend or loved one without wondering who else is listening. Writing a letter and knowing that only the recipient will read it. That is freedom George!

I, personally, believe that freedom is also knowing that my government is representing my values. That my leaders are ensuring my safety and well being. That I can sleep knowing my children are safe from harm from abroad and here at home. That the policies promoted by my president will not create a debt so large that my grandchildren's children will still be paying it off. That elections in my country are fair, and that all of our individual votes are what select our leaders and not some corrupt organization.

We are not children. And I resent being spoken to by this president as if I am incapable of understanding what is right and what is wrong. I do know. And I know that he is wrong.

I actually think that Bush wants to be impeached! For evidence I offer this quote; and that is exactly what I will continue to do as long as I am president of the United States.

I have heard that same quote in several of his recent speeches. I think that he is drawing a line in the sand. He is saying that "I will do what I want, and you can't stop me unless you take me out of office." Alright then. Let's get his ass out of the White House!

Oh dude! I'm so jealous. You beat me to the punch on BBA by 7 minutes. :-)

The kicker for me is that he's admitted to an impeachable offense, in public, and then stated that he'll continue as long as he's president. Though that may not be for much longer if the wastes in Congress can display some cojones.
