DNA tests undermine beliefs of Mormon church.

From the time he was a child in Peru, the Mormon Church instilled in Jose A. Loayza the conviction that he and millions of other Native Americans were descended from a lost tribe of Israel that reached the New World more than 2,000 years ago.

A few years ago, Loayza said, his faith was shaken and his identity stripped away by DNA evidence showing that the ancestors of American natives came from Asia, not the Middle East.

For Mormons, the lack of discernible Hebrew blood in Native Americans is no minor collision between faith and science. It burrows into the historical foundations of the Book of Mormon, a 175-year-old transcription that the church regards as literal and without error.

I have been asking this question for years. "Why doesn't somebody just do a simple DNA test on the Native Americans and see if they are of Jewish descent?" And now they have!

And of course the church's response is to claim that the data is being misunderstood and used to attack the church. This is so typical of these religious organizations!

Suck it up Mormons! Your religion is based on a series of lies. But you can take solace in the fact that all religions are based on a string of lies. See? You are all a bunch of sheep following a system designed to strip you of your individuality and make money off of you? Don't you feel better now?

You know if we really put our minds to it we could probably undermine all of our most popular religions by examining them carefully with scientific tools. Wouldn't that be great?

You know I never get invited to church functions anymore. It so hurts my feelings.
