George Bush: New speech same old drivel.

"In a time of testing, we cannot find security by abandoning our commitments and retreating within our borders. If we were to leave these vicious attackers alone, they would not leave us alone. They would simply move the battlefield to our own shores."

Who is going to attack us? The Iraqis? They never attacked us before, why would they come to America to attack us now? Why would they be so angry with America now? Could it have something to do with our invading their country and occupying it? Maybe if we left they would not be quite so pissed.

I hate this statement. "We have to fight them over there to keep from fighting them over here."

How many times have we heard some variation of this? It is an ignorant statement and it is just more of the same Republican fear-mongering! The insurgents in Iraq do not have the resources to attack us in this country. And if we are talking about the Taliban then what are we really doing to stop an attack from them? I mean besides reading our e-mails to France of course.

Most of our money and resources are going to fighting the war in Iraq. If we were able to free up those resources we would be far more capable of defending ourselves against this potential attack from Al Qaeda.

Bush keeps referring to the monster under our beds and then turns off our lights and runs to the comfort of his own well lit, safe bedroom. He is trying to keep us frightened so that we do not dare question what he is doing. Well I have said it before and I will say it often, nothing scares me as much as George Bush being my president!

Until then I will keep my nightlight on and the covers tucked firmly up under my chin.
