Mike Brown has asked if he is protected by "executive privilege" before answering who on the Presidents cabinet he discussed the Katrina problems.
The White House failed to respond appropriately so the game is on.
Even Ted Stevens said "that was their problem" if something is revealed that the White House does not want revealed.
Brown was in contact with Andy Card (White House Chief of Staff).
Oooh Brownie is clearly pissed! They have to be breaking out in hives at the White House.
Brownie is blaming the focus on terrorism as the reason that FEMA was so ineffective in dealing with this natural disaster. He finds the fault resting with DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services) and their uneven focus on terrorism.
Brownie contacted Joe Hagen (Deputy Chief of Staff) that New Orleans was flooding. Hagen was in Crawford with the President. Brown is confidant that the president was informed about the problems right then.
Republicans go on the attack! Senator Norm Coleman (R) is pounding Michael Brown on his own incompetence. He is just making Brownie angrier!
And Brownie explodes! He is not going to allow them to dump all of this on him.
Michael Brown did not have much confidence in Michael Chertoff and circumvented him during the crisis and went straight to Andy Card and Joe Hagen who he believes brought his concerns to the president.
Now this does two things. It gives Chertoff the excuse that he really did not know how bad things had become in New Orleans. But it places the responsibility right at the door of the White House. Then the question becomes who did the White House contact about Brown's concerns?
So he clearly was pointing his stubby little finga at EVERYBODY that he could think of ?????He clearly does not want to be the Scapegoat.....
ReplyDeleteChertoff- new goat...? Yeah....
the WH.....- yet more goats...
