One fifth of Americans believe the government is spying on them.

About a fifth of Americans think federal agents have listened in on their phone calls, a CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll released Tuesday suggests.

Twenty-one percent of the 1,000 adults who replied to the survey conducted Thursday through Sunday said it was very likely or somewhat likely their conversations had been wiretapped, while 52 percent said it was not at all likely.

Why does the Bush administration often get credit for making Americans feel safer? Do you feel safer?

If a fifth of us think that our own government is spying on us that doesn't not sound like they feel very secure now does it?

By the way I am positive that we are being spied on. I am also confident that when we know all of the details of the "data mining" operation we will be stunned at how little it takes to attract the attention of our State Department.

Remember, to the Bush administration, an enemy is anybody who diagrees with them. Do you disagree with them? Well then you are a threat. Sleep tight!
