After Jon Stewart and Keith Olbermann, Bill is my favorite comedic political commentator.
He was a little off last night. Many of the jokes fell flat.
The true gold came from Helen Thomas and Eddie Griffin. Eddie did not hold anything back. Many of his jokes missed their marks as well, but as the show progressed he found his stride and started coming through with a unique voice filled with truly honest observations. His take on why America wants to keep nukes out of the hands of the brown man was painfully on target.
But it was his interplay with Helen Thomas that made the show truly entertaining. Helen was completely smitten with Eddie and laughed long and hard at everything that tumbled out of his mouth. He in turn seemed to be very impressed with her as well. (Do I see a love connection?)
All in all it was fun to watch and Dan Senor, the republican apologist, didn't really distract too much from the conservative bashing that went on most of the show.
