Al-Qaeda planning a "Big Bang" in Iraq!

U.S. officials tell CBS News that intelligence has picked up reports that al Qaeda in Iraq is planning what one source calls the "Big Bang," a spectacular terrorist attack in Iraq against either a single high-profile target or multiple targets simultaneously.

I have to say I don't like that phrase "big bang", that just sounds truly terrifying for our soldiers who are over in that country. The idea that this violence is going to recede anytime soon seems to be just wishful thinking. These guys are flat determined to get us out of their country. I see no reason for them to change their plans.

It looks to me like Zarqawi is a very patient man.

The Iraqi government has banned all private vehicles in Baghdad during daylight hours Friday, the Muslim prayer day, just as it did last week.

That kept car bombs, what the military cars vehicle-born improvised explosive devices, off the streets. But Zarqawi just waited until the ban was lifted.

"The day the vehicle ban was lifted, all these VBIEDS that he had staged he deployed in Iraq and detonated over the last three days," said Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, a U.S. military spokesman.

This is their home! Why would they stop? They know that they have shaken the resolve of the American people and that it won't take much more of this to make Americans demand the return of our forces immediately.

Look I am a fighter. I don't usually advocate running from a fight. Ever! But I would never allow myself to get involved in a fight that was not just. This war was wrong from the beginning. We cannot stay until it becomes a just war because that is never going to happen. All we are doing is making the mistake worse and worse by not admitting that we had no right to invade this country and leaving the country today! We can offer humanitarian support but we must get our people out of their! Now!

Bush is mentally unfit to lead this country. He is unable to admit error so he cannot learn from his mistakes. No mistakes, no learning! Somebody in the government is going to have to wrest control from him and start to make amends for his unbelievable screw ups! I truly feel that this person will have to come from the ranks of the Republicans! And that thought just makes my shoulders slump. Because I know that this person does not exist.

Where are our American heroes?
