A national conservative Christian advocacy group has jumped into Alaska's political battle over gay-partner employment benefits.
Focus on the Family, based in Colorado Springs, Colo., began calling people Monday. With an automated phone system, it asks whether people support or oppose a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would nullify a court decision that ordered the state to pay such benefits.
We all know this Focus on the Family gang. Their leader is one of George Bush's favorite people, James Dobson. Dobson is one of those individuals who long for the days before racial equality and civil rights. He would love to transport the country back to a time when children were beaten until they straightened up and wives were considered "property".
Of course his organizaation takes a kinder gentler approach to mind control.
The group says its mission is to preserve what it considers to be traditional values and the institution of the family. It intends to contact thousands of Alaskans through the end of this week as part of its national effort to lobby against recognizing same-sex couples as spouses, Brandt said.
"We're not singling out Alaska," he said. "We're interested in these matters no matter where they take place."
I don't buy this traditional values crap! What they want more then anything is for everybody to start thinking like them and to tithe 20% of their income to their church so they can fly jetliners to their summer homes, pay for their liposuction, and get hair plugs so that they can get that giant hair they all like so much.
They do not care about anybodies diversity especially if it makes them question their own heterosexuality. I always think these guys are closeted gays that were taught to despise their natural inclinations and to lash out at anybody who rocks their boat.
