Tony Blair puts to rest any doubts that the war in Iraq is a religious war.

Tony Blair has proclaimed that God will judge whether he was right to send British troops to Iraq, echoing statements from his ally George Bush.

Explaining how he managed to live with the decision to go to war in Iraq, Mr Blair replied: "If you have faith about these things then you realise that judgement is made by other people. If you believe in God,it's made by God as well."

When somebody claims that they were called by God to do something it ends all discussion. The person cannot place you in the same category as their God therefore nothing you say can possibly compete. That is the most dangerous frame of mind to have in a leader.

If the leaders of two of the most powerful nations on earth decide that God wants them to liberate a country then it does not matter that there is no physical evidence to support the decision. It does not matter that intelligent people tell them it is the wrong thing to do. Since they are not God their opinion does not mean a thing.

I already knew that Bush had this damaged mindset, but I am a little surprised to find that Blair is just as twisted in his thinking. Blair always seemed so sophisticated and urbane. It is clear that both of these men need to be removed from their places of influence, and calmer, saner heads need to take over the reins of power.

There have been persistent reports that Mr Blair joined the President in prayer for God's guidance at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, in 2002, at the summit at which many people believe a secret decision was reached to invade Iraq.

Mr Bush once told Palestinian leaders: "God would tell me, 'George, go end the tyranny in Iraq' and I did."

I have rarely read more frightening words in my life! It is like when somebody claims that the voices in their head told them to kill their whole family. How can you argue with the voices?

How many times have we heard some nutball t.v. minister talking about God giving them some message? And even when the prediction does not come true the preacher does not question his connection to God he just goes on to make another prediction. And he will still have followers who believe him!

Bush is insane! If he truly believes that he is receiving messages from God then he is out of his fucking mind! And Tony Blair is just as out to lunch as our president! This explains why so many of us who use our brains to try and figure out why they do what they do are completely lost. We are sane! It puts us at a disadvantage!

And who does Bush and Blair believe their God wants them to eradicate? The people who are not of their faith! The Christian God told them to destroy the followers of the Muslim God. All this talk about giving them democracy is just code for shoving Christianity down their throats. It is missionary work delivered in a hail of bullets! Either you accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior or you die! It is the new millenium version of the Crusades! We were all lied to but it does not mater to these guys. The ends justifies the means, and how can any of us can possibly question God's motives? When Bush talks about his enemies he means the enemies of his God. How many of us do you think would make that list?

The litmus test for our next leaders should be a lack of religiosity! Oh they can attend church occasionally, but if they mention that they pray for guidance then they are out of there! You can have some faith. But you may not believe that you are chosen by God to run for President! No, damnit you cannot lead my country you freaking whackjob! I am also going to advocate for a mental competence test to be given to all potential candidates for President and the Senate.

Is it really too much to ask that our leaders be sane! No I don't think so.
