White House Press Secretary Tony Snow compares Bush poll ratings to Roosevelt's during the "Battle of the Bulge". Guess whose were higher?

"Talking Point's" Joshua Micah Marshall does a great job of demonstrating how little research these morons do before making these ridiculous comparisons.

Look at this part:

As you can see, there was no downtick in public support for the war around the time of the Battle of the Bulge. Approval for President Roosevelt's conduct of the war continued at around 70% where it had been for years. The number of people who said they had a clear idea of what the war was about was at about the same level and appears to have been rising. Support for a negotiated peace with Hitler remained around the anemic levels it had been for years -- at around 15%.

To put this into perspective, the "Battle of the Bulge" saw 81,000 American casualties. And at that time Roosevelt's poll numbers showed him at a 70% approval rating.

It is clearly not just the loss of life that is bringing Bush's numbers down, it is the way we got into this war in the first place and that the facts used to justify the conflict have proven to be false.

The reason that Bush's numbers are in the toilet is because Americans have discovered that he is a liar.
