I am watching Bush lie to the NAACP right now.

The president called slavery “a stain” yet to be cleaned. And he said that when people talk about the “founding fathers” of the United States, they too often forget those who came “in chains.”

Bush also honored civil rights leaders, whom he called the nation’s “second founders,” and said he understands why many blacks distrust the Republican Party, adding that he wants to change that relationship.

I always love how Bush talks as if he is telling you something you don't know about something that everybody on the planet already knows.

"This might be new information to you, and I don't want to shock you, but your ancestors were slaves! That's right they were not, what we call, free men! They picked cotton and wore chains, and sang these delightful songs about their situation.

Let's see what kind of music was that? The reds? No. The purples? No. Oh I remember, the blues! They sang the blues! And then Elvis took it and made it good!

Heh heh, I love the Negroes!"

I kept wating for an audience member to stand up and yell "Motherfucker, we aren't stupid!" But I guess Samuel L. Jackson was not there.

Oh well maybe next time.

Well, according to Bush, everyone deserves equal rights...well unless you're gay then you get nothing...but EVERYONE deserves equal rights and that's what America is all about...unless you want to cure diseases...and unless you're gay. Okay, so if you're a tight-ass Republican Christian fundamentalist, then you deserve all the rights society has to offer. Oh, you're an Arab-American? Okay, nevermind, we'll stick you with the gays and the liberals. No rights for you. Okay, so maybe Bush is talking out of both sides of his mouth. But lest not forget, everyone deserves equal rights. That's what America and the American people are all about. Just don't disagree with Bush -- only then will you be safe.
