Four of Jill Carroll's possible abductors have been arrested in Iraq.

Four Iraqi men have been detained in the kidnapping of American journalist Jill Carroll as a result of a dogged hunt by U.S. troops in Anbar province, the U.S. military said Wednesday.

"The hunt continues for anybody and anyone else that was involved" in this kidnapping and other insurgent acts, said Maj. Gen. William Caldwell, spokesman for Multi-National Forces in Iraq.

"Troops on the ground -- young Marines and sailors -- paid attention to what may have been considered minor details at the time," said Caldwell.

"Several intelligence-driven operations that took place between Falluja and Baghdad" resulted in the detention of the four men, said Caldwell.

Well this is really good news! I have been wondering what happened to Ms. Carroll and would really like to see what she has to say about her abduction now. Apparently the Christian Science Monitor will finally have her story next week.

I am also very surprised that they caught anybody in this crime. I would have thought that there was no way to do much police work in that environment

This solves the "where in the world is Jill Carroll" question. Apparently she's living in Boston and working as a staff editor in the Boston office of the CSM. Nope, I haven't run into her -- but I'm terrible with recognizing people. I probably wouldn't know her if I stepped on her for God sakes. Anyway, good for her! I'm really looking forward to reading about her ordeal next week.
