The police department has recommended felony charges be filed against a female high school teacher accused of having an inappropriate sexual encounter with a teenage student.

Charges against 29-year-old Carrie McCandless were forwarded to the Larimer County District Attorney on Thursday.

She is married to the school's principal, Chris McCandless.
