Harriet Miers moves out of the line of fire.

Harriet Miers, President Bush's failed Supreme Court nominee and longtime adviser, on Thursday submitted her resignation as White House counsel.

White House press secretary Tony Snow said the president reluctantly accepted her resignation, which takes effect Jan. 31. He said a search for a successor is under way.

Asked why she was leaving, Snow said: "Basically, she has been here six years."

Can I hear a "bullshit" from the congregation!

Does anybody, and I mean anybody, buy this load of shit?

I listened to some pundits on CNN who stated the obvious reason that Harriet is stepping aside, and it has nothing to do with having been in the job too long. She is going to be replaced by a much more aggressive attorney who can protect the President from the coming investigations and possible impeachment hearings.

Well Johnny Cochran is dead, and I don't think that there is an attorney alive who can protect this President from justice so long delayed.

If I were a betting man I would be placing all of my money on this Presidency being destroyed by the investigations to come.
