Justice comes to the Dixie Chicks.

The Dixie Chicks may not be ready to make nice, but Grammy voters don't seem to be holding a grudge.

Sunday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the former sweethearts of country took home five awards at the 49th annual Grammy ceremony, including album of the year, record of the year, song of the year and -- ironically -- best country album.

This is an absolutely perfect outcome for the Dixie Chicks after they were vilified and attacked by many country music fans. They spoke their mind at a time when many Americans were afraid to voice their dissenting opinions, and still others felt that we had to show unity in this time of war. And we are all better for their bravery.

I just hate country music, but I love these ladies! They are to be admired by all of us who dare speak truth to power. I was able to sit at my desk and fire off my dissenting opinions from the relative anonymity of the blogoshere, but the Chicks were out there on the front line, receiving hate mail and death threats. They are some very strong women indeed.
