Republicans blocked a full-fledged Senate debate over Iraq on Monday, but Democrats vowed they still would find a way to force President Bush to change course in a war that has claimed the lives of more than 3,000 U.S. troops.
The vote was 49-47, or 11 short of the 60 needed to go ahead with debate, and left the fate of the measure uncertain.
Take the names of these traitors down my friends. The next election cycle I hope that their constituents, who are beyond tired of this illegal war, vote the bastards out of office. And they can think back on this day as the day that their political aspirations died.
I do not know how much clearer we can make it, we want our troops out of Iraq now! Not tomorrow, now!
Russ Feingold is furious with both sides.
ReplyDeleteTo me, Feingold sets the standard. He had the guts to vote against this war from the beginning.
