Mitt Romney decides to take on Barack Obama by misunderstanding his point and then getting his panties in a twist.

For the second day in a row, Republican presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney blasted Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., for believing "age-appropriate" sex education should begin as early as kindergarten.

Obama, who has family members and friends who suffered sexual abuse at early ages, believes young children should know the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touching. The legislation he supported in the Illinois Senate would have revised the state's law so that sex education would begin in kindergarten and run through high school, rather than running strictly from grade six through 12.

After Obama reaffirmed his belief Tuesday that age-appropriate sex education should begin as early as kindergarten, Romney saw his opportunity to pounce.

"How much sex education is age appropriate for a 5-year-old?" Romney asked Wednesday at a Colorado campaign stop. "In my view, zero is the right amount. Instead of teaching about sex education in kindergarten to 5-year-olds let's clean up the ocean of filth, the cesspool in which our children are swimming."

My first response to this is that Romney is purposefully misrepresenting Obama's statement so that he can get those southern hillbillies all juiced up to start making outlandish claims about the Democrats wanting to teach their young uns about that "sekchul intercurse".

But of course Obama said nothing of the kind. What he said was that children as young as kindergarten should be taught "appropriate" sex education.

Well you know what? I work with kindergartners during the school year. And they have questions. They want to know how boys and girls are different. They want to know if boys can be mommies. The girls want to know when they will get breasts. And of course they want to know where babies come from. All of these questions are concerning their sexual identity and therefore would be considered "sex ed". But they are not about sex. Nobody is going to teach five year olds about condom use, abortion, or complications during pregnancy.

As a matter of fact, we usually have the children ask their mommies about the "where babies come from" question because we are sensitive to the fact that parents differ on how much information a child should have and when.

But we do teach children about the "good touch vs bad touch" subject because we live in a world that makes that information necessary. And that was clearly all that Barack Obama was suggesting.

So fuck you Mitt "We should double the size of Gitmo" Romney! You are an asshole, and if you took sex education you would know what part of the body that is.

Where and why does the author of this article omit the PARENTS role in teaching sex education? I am sorry that Obama's parents and aunties and uncles didn't teach them what inappropriate touching was, but please don't lets try and blame Mitt Romney for not supporting the school as being the main source of information on this subject.

Have you forgotten what and why we are electing this next leader? America needs someone great. Someone who is willing to put family first, Mitt does just that.

I would highly reccommend listening to a new song about the upcoming elections called "Raise the Bar" we really do need to raise the bar, when it comes to our politicians, it has been too long that we have had leaders who have held America back from being as great as it should be, could be.

Musicgirl, get a grip. Romney has more flip flops than a kid in South Carolina. He changes his position every time the wind blows. We do need someone great-not someone who can't make up his own mind and stick with it.

And Mitt willing to put family first? My 3 dogs are part of my family and there's NO WAY I'd strap a dog carrier to the roof of my mother-fucking car!!

You need to pull your head out of your ass and pay attention to what's going on in this country.

That was so courageous of you to leave that polite, anonymous comment!
As for me, I'm sticking to actually looking for the good things around me, as opposed to focusing on really dumb things that someone did 20 years ago. As far as a flip flop, maybe you should consider it! It really feels good to grow up...
