I have never been a huge fan of Ronald Reagan, but it appears he was a pretty good judge of character.

Direct quote from the just published REAGAN DIARIES.

The entry is dated May 17, 1986.

'A moment I've been dreading. George brought his ne're-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida. The one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I'll call Kinsley over at The New Republic and see if they'll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work.'

Forty years old and never had a real job, and this is who we allowed to be our President?

And we wonder how our country got so screwed up.

  2. The link you provide is to an article showing the quote is meant as a joke and did not come from the Reagan diaries.
And for the record I think Reagan was one of the worst disasters to ever hit this country.

  3. Damn it! Snookered again!

Oh well that is the risk you run by trying to get new information out quickly. I did read it a few times and wondered if it might be a joke, but I did not know how to cross reference at the time and decided that it was too good not to post.

I will leave it up here as a lesson to myself and others that everybody makes mistakes, but to really fuck things up you have to be President.
