No matter how hard we try, we on the left will never construct a bigger tinfoil hat then the ones regularly worn by the right wingnuts.

Apparently this guy Michael Savage, who I don't know dick about, has suggested that there is a possibility that those of us on the political left may have triggered the seizure suffered by Chief Justice John Roberts. My first response to that has to be WTF?

I bet you think I made this up, so here let me post his actual words so that you can be as amazed as I am.

Am I to believe that there's no connection between Charles Schumer on Friday saying that he would never appoint, or never, excuse me, approve another Bush appointment to the court, to any court? And then the chief justice suffers a so-called seizure two days later? You're telling me there's no possibility of a conspiracy by the Democrats to have caused this seizure in some manner? Tell me that it's not possible. Tell me that the stakes are not so high that the liberals -- who've finally lost the court after 50 years -- that they would stop short of anything like this. Tell me it's not possible, and I'll tell you you're a liar.

Well I guess that by Michael Savage's logic I am a liar, because I don't think that anybody could have triggered this episode purposefully. For one thing who knew that he was even an epileptic? I sure didn't. And then if you did how would you go about triggering it? I mean sometimes rapid images or flashing lights have been known to do it, but wasn't Roberts outside in the daylight? My understanding is that he had just taken a boat ride, at 2:00 p.m., and he simply fell while on the dock. Flashing lights would have little to no effect in broad daylight.

Now I am no expert on seizures or epilepsy, but I guess it might be possible that the bouncing of the boat might have messed up his equilibrium and triggered the seizure. But that is certainly not an expert opinion. So I guess Mr. Savage needs to see if there was anybody else piloting that boat, and if there was, are they a liberal. Moron!

You know my very first thought when I heard that the Chief Justice had fallen was that I hoped he was okay. He is, after all, the father of young children. You see Mr. Savage, as liberals, we are very concerned about our fellow humans and rarely wish them ill. So even though we would very much like the Supreme Court to go back to a more progressive stance we would not injure, or cause the injury, of any of the sitting Justices.

However the fact that you could imagine anybody doing such a thing causes me much concern about your character, and just what you may be willing to do to further your cause.
