Fred Thompson is really firing up those Republican voters.

A handful of Utah "Fredheads" - political activists supporting the late entry of Republican Fred Thompson into the presidential sweepstakes - gathered Thursday in Salt Lake City to kick off their campaign for the oldest fresh face in the race.

Just four Thompson supporters showed up at Utah Republican Party headquarters for the event, leaving dozens of untouched cookies and vegetable snacks provided in hopes a much bigger crowd would materialize.

I think that Uncle Fester here is purely a creation of a media who is just completely underwhelmed by the current crop of candidates.
I hope those four supporters got enough to eat. It would a shame to walk away completely disappointed.

maybe they have him confused with Right Said Fred ("I'm Too Sexy for My Shirt" -- maybe that will be Thompson's campaign theme song -- maybe I'm gonna be sick now).

The 4 Utahns who showed up were probably Romney spies, scoping out the comp. Mitt's Twits, we call 'em. ~~ D.K.
