Less than an hour after a federal jury convicted former state Rep. Vic Kohring of public corruption charges on Thursday, he apologized to the people of Alaska for the stress and trauma of the investigation and trial.
That is three prosecutions, and three convictions.
I think it is pretty clear that our Alaskan jury pool is tired of the political corruption in this state.
And the Feds are not done yet. I think that they have a number of other corrupt politicians that they are preparing to take down as well.
Ben Stephens is a given. But his father, the powerful Senator Ted Stevens, may be preparing to face his day in court as well.
And I just cannot help but believe that Representative Don Young has numerous skeletons in his closet that are about to be let out as well.
Our next election may be the first time in thirty years that we have not had either Ted Stevens or Don Young on the ballot.
Now that is an election to look forward to.
