Geraldine Ferraro resigns from Hillary campaign.

Here is her letter of resignation:

Dear Hillary –

I am stepping down from your finance committee so I can speak for myself and you can continue to speak for yourself about what is at stake in this campaign.
The Obama campaign is attacking me to hurt you. I won't let that happen.
Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do to make this a better world for my children and grandchildren.
You have my deep admiration and respect.
Gerry

This is just a shame.

The real reason that this remark has had the impact that it did, is solely the fault of Hillary Clinton. She is the one who has demanded that anybody who makes a critical remark about her, her campaign, or her family must be punished. They must be suspended, like David Shuster, or asked to resign, like Samantha Power.

Obama has no choice but to respond in kind when somebody makes a cretinous comment about him or his campaign, or else continue to be attacked relentlessly while Clinton gets a free pass.

It is just too bad that Ferraro got caught in the middle of this Kindergarten food fight.

Update: Okay I tried to be a gentleman and defend a woman that I had a lot of respect for. But then I read this: From an April 15, 1988 Washington Post story: And former representative Geraldine A. Ferraro (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday that because of his "radical" views, "if Jesse Jackson were not black, he wouldn't be in the race."

Okay I am done defending Gerry Ferraro because clearly the crazy old bat is a racist.

  1. clearly I was thinking that the thalidomide has rotted her brain- still a bad excuse....then I saw the Jesse Jackson comment- and then I realized holy shit- she has been feeling this way and spewing this ALL ALONG.....long before she was on meds for her illness.....

As a woman I am embarrassed and horrified...that Old White Women as creating a Race War in this country....
    it is pathetic....

  2. Hey I tried Enigma.

I gave her the benefit of the doubt until I saw her interview where she refused to apologize and then the Jesse Jackson reference, and then I was just done.

I really liked Ferraro, I thought she was one of the good ones. It makes you wonder just how much racism is bubbling under the surface with these white liberal democrats doesn't it?

  3. I think there is more bubbling below the surface than we know....I think sadly, that Katrina was just the tip of the Iceberg for a Big Silent Problem that maybe we did not know about.....
