I am tired.
I am tired of politics, negativity, duplicitous Republicans, and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
I have had my very spirit lifted and set free by the magnificent words of Barack Obama, only to have it shot out of the sky by the soul devouring monstrosity that is the Hillary Clinton campaign.
I can't take it anymore!
I don't want to have four more years of George Bush policies in Iraq. So fuck you John McCain!
I don't want to be frightened into surrendering my vote. So fuck you Hillary!
I want to be inspired. So fuck you Ohio, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, New York, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, for getting in the way of that inspiration. Don't any of you see that you are being manipulated? Don't you feel your baser instincts being taken advantage of? Do you not feel that sense of deja vu? Have you not been there before? And do you really want to go there again?
Hillary talks about being a fighter because she believes that is what the country is looking for.
But she is wrong. We are tired of fighting. We are tired of war.
The war we are in is a war of our own making. Wanting to appear tough is how George Bush dragged this nation into invading a country that was no threat to us. Wanting to appear tough has caused the death of a million Iraqis and thousands of American soldiers.
We don't need to be so damn tough anymore. We need to be smart. Smart enough to know that constantly looking for a fight means constantly finding a fight. Smart enough to know that trying to dominate the world means making an endless number of enemies, but that offering an open heart and a helping hand means making lifelong friends.
It is time for America to stop telling the rest of the world how to live their lives. It is time to stop the threatening. It is time to stop the manipulating. It is time to finally realize that our way is not always the right way. It is time to be a partner in the world and not the overbearing lord of the world.
We have earned the hate of these other countries. They do not hate us for our freedom. They hate us for the loss of theirs.
We need a leader to show the world that not all Americans are tyrants. We need a leader who will show the world that not all Americans want to dominate them. We need a leader who knows that not all problems are solved with threats and money.
We need Barack Obama.
This was great, Gryphen! You are spot on. I feel worst about CA & NV, my 2 former long-time residences that went for Hill. I think the same as you, how could they not see? But then I remember something like 45% of the primary voters who voted democrat voted for Obama, even in those states.
ReplyDeletesniff..snifff.....ohio slunks off to the corner....ashamed......
ReplyDeleteNO!
ReplyDeleteThe "Obama-mama" is hereby excused from any fault relating to the unfortunate choices that Ohio has made.
If they had a hundred more like you the state would have gone for Obama 90% to 10% for Hillary.
Of that I have no doubt.
