There is mixed news on the Obama front today.

Sen. Barack Obama officially pulled ahead today in the scramble for endorsements from colleagues in the U.S. Senate, thanks to Sen. Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico.

That is clearly good news for Obama and his campaign but the other news of the day is not quite so helpful.

Jeremiah Wright spoke to the National Press Club today. He started off explaining the problem that the white community has understanding the African American experience and how that expresses itself in their church services. But then the good Reverend became defensive and combative and used the energy from the crowd to fuel a kind of verbal boxing match that I can assure you will be cut and pasted together by FOX News and others to show the reverend in the worst light imaginable.

I support Reverend Wright's right to express himself but I do feel that he forgot he was not in front of a room of supporters and could have chosen his words more carefully.

  1. I watched his performance both at the Press Club and also at the NAACP conference...it was very different than the Moyers interview- and I thought that Moyers Interview was much different...

Wright was outrageous...and even disrespectful of Obama...

  2. Yeah this guy is a huge albatross.

Obama did a good job at expressing his disillusionment and disappointment in his former pastor today.

This will come up again for sure but I think Obama is handling it well.
