Pressed twice by George Stephanopoulos to name a "credible economist" who thinks the gas tax holiday is a good idea, Clinton can't.
"I’m not going to put my lot in with economists," she said on the "This Week" town hall. Clinton added that the tax holiday would work "if we actually did it right."
More broadly, she repeatedly attacked elite opinion, citing "a tremendous amount of government power and elite opinion behind ... policies that haven't worked for the middle class."
Later, she attacked "this mindset where elite opinion is always on the side of doing things that really disadvantage the vast majority of Americans."
Does Hillary Clinton, the Republican wolf, have any Democratic sheep clothing still clinging to her frame?
In other words is there anybody left who does not see that she is no more a Democrat then Joe Lieberman?
Voting for Hillary literally means voting for another anti-educational fool, only this time the fool wears control top pantie hose.
I'm an Obama supporter. I was very happy to be part of the wild crowd in Alaska to put him over the top here. I think his rhetoric of hope and willingness to actually engage our adversaries is far superior to Senator Clinton's tired recitation of failed policies. I also think the gas holiday idea is wacko and cheer Senator Obama for rejecting it.
ReplyDelete*BUT* I have to take issue with the characterization of Clinton as a conservative. Take a look at how special interest groups have rated her at http://www.votesmart.org/issue_rating_category.php?can_id=55463 and compare those to McCain's ratings from those same groups.
Hillary is no more a conservative than McCain is a liberal. Both appear to be members of the bipartisan coalition for global domination, but there are other differences between them.
Not that should stop Obama from being the dem's nominee.
Hi Daniel.
ReplyDeleteLook my characterization of Hillary as a Republican has really nothing to do with her positions on abortion, or civil rights, or the like, and much more to do with how she has conducted this campaign.
She has taken to using the very kind of scare tactics and anti-intellectual rhetoric that gave George Bush the edge in the last two Presidential elections.
If a Democrat is going to move into the White House then they sure as shit better be a REAL Democrat that did not get there by using the Bush/Rove playbook to smear their adversary and trick the American voter.
That was my point and I stand by it.
