Sunday roundup of blogs working on the mystery of Sarah Palin, Bristol Palin, and Trig Palin.

One of the first to enter the controversy was my friend Enigma at Questions in the Middle of the Night. She also did a lot of investigation over at Watergate Summer.

Here is a relatively new blog called Baby Trig for Obama.

English blogger Suchandrik tries to make sense of it at We Are All Beautiful People. The main two posts are here and here.

The story was covered at iReport.

Vanity Fair weighed in on the issue.

My fellow Alaskan blogger AK Muckraker has also covered this extensively. Most recently here.

Political Base contributor JNail has been trying to make sense of the stories as well.

BlueBloggin is on the case.

One of the first websites to ask the probing questions was The Daily Kos. That original story has been taken down, but if you do a search you can find a number of posts both supporting the view that we should not be talking about his subject and that this subject MUST be discussed.

The famous Huffington Post has also covered this story here.

There are many, many more blogs and forum threads dealing with this issue and trying to sort through the reams of conflicting reports, photographs, and denials. It is probably the most compelling story that has emerged since John McCain first chose Sarah Palin as his running mate.

One of the constant debates among those of us who blog is whether this story is fair game, or worth so much time and energy.

My opinion has been "yes it is ". And the reason I feel that way is that the official story simply makes no sense. If this is Sarah's baby, then she did an amazing job of hiding her pregnancy, made a stupid and dangerous decision while leaking amniotic fluid, and lost the baby weight at a remarkable rate.

But if it is not her baby, then she lied to her constituents in Alaska, convinced her doctor to put her career at risk and go on record with a lie, made her entire family go along with the lie, accepted a nomination for the second most powerful position in the country knowing she had a terrible secret just waiting to be discovered, and then forced her eldest daughter to either lie about or confirm a current pregnancy to get the media and blogoshpere off of her back about Trig's birth. If, like many of us believe, THIS is the truth then it paints Sarah Palin as possibly the most manipulative, heartless, and unethical politician in American history.

I don't know about you but I flat HATE being lied to. I have been lied to for the last eight years by the Bush administration and I am fucking tired of it. So if this woman is starting off her national political career with this lie then I want it found out and deconstructed before she EVER gets anywhere near the November election.

Finding the truth and telling it when the MSM refuses to do so is exactly why I started this blog in the first place. If I had ignored this story I would have been the very same kind of hypocrite that I have been condemning for the last four years.

I found your blog thru a comment someone posted on US magazine's story about Bristol's current pregnancy. I am a mom of two living in Fairfax County, VA a Northern Virginia suburb of Washington, DC, and a proud member of the Democratic party which has been growing by leaps and bounds in our state. I did support Hillary in the primaries, but am voting for Obama because I believe in the Democratic vision for our future and ideals. The idea that such a right wing extremist would appeal to a true Hillary supporter is insulting to say the least. I immediately was turned off to Palin's attitude and views as soon as I heard her speak. What we first got here in the MSM was that Palin was beloved in Alaska, but thru well informed blogs like yours, slowly the real Sarah Palin is coming into the light. She cannot be shielded from the media when you and your fellow bloggers continue to expose her. Thanks for all you are doing. I immediately donated to the Democratic party after her pit bull speech. I will be visiting your site regularly for updates!

We need to pressure the msm to see Sarah's medical records. This story can be put to rest once she releases her records and provides the birth certificate.
Most women I talk with who have had children can't accept the story of her leaking fluid and not going immediately to a hospital to get checked out. I don't care if it is her 5th child. At age 44 you are high risk period. Everyone needs to keep this story going until we get the proper evidence.

If she was faking it she wasn't in a high risk pregnancy. She was, however, in Texas. I wonder what would have happened if Bristol had gone into labor while Mom was in Texas being "preggers." My guess is that Mom would fly and drive all night to get to the hospital where Bristol was delivering. Just a thought. One I think should be spread, since it does explain the late-night drive to Mat-Su rather than a larger or better-appointed hospital nearer to the AIRPORT.

Today's NYT totally bought into the Palin version of Trig's birth in a long front page article.
