The voices of 1,200 Alaskans were heard in the Governor's Anchorage office yesterday as the Alaskans for Truth delivered their petition.

A group called Alaskans for Truth - including several local left-leaning bloggers - collected at the foot of the Atwood building just before noon today to deliver a stack of signatures calling for Attorney General Talis Colberg to lose his job.

Before long the group crowded into elevators and hit the governor's office. They asked for Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell and got Palin spokesman Bill McAllister.

Biegel read the petition, which accuses Colber of witness tampering and blocking the Legislature's investigation of Palin, before handing McAllister the paperwork.

"I'm accepting the physical documents. Not the premises," he said.

Someone asked when the governor or attorney general would get the petition.

"There's no specific process involved here. ... You've turned in some signatures, so I'll ask them what they want me to do with them.

The scene then turned into a kind of impromptu press conference with cameras rolling on the bloggers as they grilled McAllister.

Blogger Philip Munger asked how often Palin and Lt. Gov. Parnell talk. Had the governor spoken to the attorney general in the last week?

“I don’t know specifically. The attorney general has been given his direction and he’s following it. We’re in uncharted territory here legally,” McAllister said.

There were fewer of us then I had hoped would show up, but those that did show up were certainly both eloquent, when asking questions or being interviewed, and passionate about ensuring that justice is done in Alaska.

Celtic Diva did an amazing job and, even though she was fighting a case of nerves, delivered our petition to Palin mouthpiece Bill McAllister with confidence in her voice. She did all of us proud.

The one disappointing thing from my perspective was the lack of follow up questions coming from Jason Moore of KTUU, and the other reporters on the scene.

It was left up to bloggers Philip Munger of Progressive Alaska, and Shannyn Moore to ask the only really probing questions of the impromptu press conference.

Here is KTUU's video of the event.

And their written account can be found here.

Wish I could have been there! I really enjoy stopping by your blog and catching up on all the latest news from Alaska.

It has inspired me to come up with my top 10 reasons Sarah Palin should be president:
