Mat-Su Hospital to no longer to announce baby births in the newspaper. Does this have anything to do with Sarah Palin and babygate?

In a blow to newspaper tradition, and perhaps a signal of the death of small-town innocence, an Alaska hospital has stopped the longtime practice of announcing births out of fear it could lead to the abduction of an infant.

Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, the hospital outside Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's hometown of Wasilla, listed newborns with the local newspaper if parents signed a consent form. The practice stopped Jan. 1.

What? Why would the hospital no longer announce births to prevent a crime THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN ALASKA? And why would little Mat-Su Hospital make such a decision when NO OTHER HOSPITAL IN ALASKA HAS DONE SO.

Something does not smell right here.

Could this have something to do with the questions surrounding the birth of Trig Palin and the fact there was never a birth announcement on the Mat-Su website about it? I have heard that the Mat-Su Hospital has been deluged with requests for information about little Trig's strange birth.

I have also heard that there is a very persistent group constantly calling Cathy Baldwin-Johnson, the doctor who supposedly helped bring little Trig into the world, and demanding that she provide evidence that Sarah is Trig's birth mother. So far there has never been any concrete evidence provided that puts the birth conspiracy to rest.

So we had all been waiting patiently for Bristol to give birth to the baby that the McCain campaign announced she was carrying back in September. The idea was that if she had the baby on December 13th, like it was originally announced we would all have to reevaluate whether she could in fact have given birth to both Trig Palin in April and then another child in early December.

However the birth of Tripp Palin (Who it was reported did not actually enter the world until December 27th) did nothing to put the questions to rest. For one thing the only evidence we have of his birth is an announcement in People magazine. And then a statement made by Sarah Palin herself.

And just like Trig, Tripp's birth announcement has never been published. And that makes absolutely no sense to any of us. Especially since that would have given Sarah Palin ammunition to use to put the "babygate" story behind her.

So it seems much more likely that the Mat-Su Hospital is making this decision to keep people from badgering them about the Palin family birth announcements, then from fear of an abduction.

If that were the reason, doesn't it seem MUCH more likely that the bigger hospitals in Anchorage, like Providence and Alaska Regional, would be the first hospitals to adopt such a policy? Of course it does.

Like I said, something definitely stinks here.

It is one thing after the other, after the other with the Palin's. Doesn't all this nonsense (Triggate, Troopergate, Vecohousebuildinggate, Kidstravelgate,Oxycontingate, NeimanMarcusgate, Perdiemgate, etc.) throw up red flags to the FBI, IRS, and Alaska state police to start tailing and wiretapping this woman?

I mean how many scandals and cover-ups can one governor be involved in before the feds come a knockin'?

Now SP may even prompt an investigation by the medical ethics board if DR CBJ is involved in a cover up.

Wow, this was a governor that ran on transparency! She's tranparent alright...transparently corrupt...Blago has NOTHING on Sarah Palin.

  2. Sounds like they want to prevent the hospital from having to announce Tripp's (probably) impending birth.

I know this important to some people, but the stories that need to be told to the lower 48 are her lack of judgment on planning a new budget,
the non existent pipeline that made her an energy expert and if the ALaskan people really want to know the truth about troopergate.
The Alaska people will have to make their legislators work for them, not for the Rep. party.

  4. It just keeps getting stranger and stranger! I'm thinking that SOONER, rather than later, all the gates will crash open, and it will all come pouring out.

  5. No pictures of baby Tripp. No pictures of the proud parents/grandparents. Confusion about the date of birth. And now the hospital is going to stop publishing birth records. Hmmmm.... Sure sounds like Bristol hasn't delivered yet and they are trying to close down one obvious information conduit.

I sure hope that Grandma Johnston decides she needs some cash and spills the beans. Talk about a blockbuster story.

I definitely think something stinks here. Why would a hospital suddenly stop a longstanding tradition as harmless as allowing new births to be published? Many people look forward to the announcements and clip them for inclusion in their baby books as mementos. Can anyone say, "censorship?"

While I don't buy into the conspiracy theory, this has to be one of the strangest set of circumstances ever.

    1. Palin doesn't announce she is pregnant until 7th month or so.
    2. Palin breaks her water in Texas, continues with luncheon speech, and only then flies home to give birth. Hospital website does not include birth announcement like it does for other births around the same time.
    3. When theories circulate that Palin is not Trig's mother, she pushes Bristol under the bus by announcing to the nation that her then 17 year old is pregnant. She has never yet (been asked nor) explained why she simply didn't produce a copy of the official birth certificate at a press conference with the delivery team, thus putting an end to rumors and protecting the privacy of her teenage daughter at the same time.
    4. Bristol has baby. No one has seen him.
    5. After ruthlessly exploiting her kids for political purposes, Palin condemns discussion by media of her family.
    6. Hospital suddenly ends birth announcements to forestall abductions. By whom, aliens?

    As I said, strange!

Only for the tinfoil crowd would this be a BIG STORY. The hospitals here in my city have not done that for a number of years, and there has never been an abduction before they did it either. But if it makes you all feel better keep believing that hundreds of people are out to get you up there in Alaska.

Again, Notalib, you refuse to look at this in the context of Palin world. This is the ONLY hospital that has instituted this policy in the area, and one of the smallest. Sarah Palin's church members make up the Board of Directors, and the church basically runs this hospital

It is widely known that Sarah Palin supposedly gave birth to Trig there, although not ONE person from that hospital has ever gone on record (even anonymously) to state that they witnessed her birth stay there. No one knows which hospital Tripp was born in, and no one other than immediately family has claimed to have seen him. No pictures, nothing.

Again, Notalib, why do you keep coming here to read and comment if you have already decided that Sarah is Trig's biological mother? What are you afraid of? You have never answered that!

According to McAllister's latest interview with a radio station, he knows the Palin Deception blog extremely well, and Sarah said herself she is mighty scared of "anonymous bloggers". Why would they be even giving us the time of day if they weren't afraid of something?

"why do you keep coming here because i just find it amazing that people are so wrapped up in this. I find t odd that people think they have some kind of right to know families personal business. You are upset that you don't know what hospital one of them was born in. Why do you think you have that right to know? You are upset that the hospital has not release private records, I wonder would you be willing to send me your birth records so I could post them on a blog? Could you get me in contact with some family so I could maybe ask for some birth pictures, I would love to be able to post them.

I come here because it is interesting to see how people can be rude just because they dislike someones politics and life.

  11. While I am no huge fan of Sarah Palin...and while I do completely agree that there are MANY oddities in this story...I don't necessarily believe the whole conspiracy..and some of the things that people seem to think are odd, really aren't so odd.

1.) "There was no announcement in the paper for Trigg or Tripp/ Mat-Su Hospital has changed there policy to avoid 'having to' publish these birth announcements." What I think people are missing here is that these birth announcements were ALWAYS voluntary and only at the discretion of the parents to begin with. No hospital has ever published this information for families that did not sign a consent agreement. Odd that Mat-Su has decided to do away w/ this practice when no other Alaska hospital has? Yes...but the kind of speculation being bandied about here is kind of off the mark.

    2. "Confusion over birth-dates" Bristol Palin's DUE-DATE was December 15th, the reported BIRTH-DATE of baby Tripp is December 27th. I don't understand how this equates to confusion over birth-dates. First of all the due date is a general estimate, at best, only... and in all cases. Second of all babies come "late" frequently...first time moms deliver their babies "late" even more frequently.

3.) "Not one single hospital person coming out to announce they were present at the birth of Trigg or Tripp." This isn't odd, this is medical personel acting ethically, respecting the laws regarding patient privacy (look up HIPPA amongst other things, if you have visited a doctor at all in the last 5 years you've signed a statement regarding HIPPA.) Anonymous or not, it would be illegal for any medical personal present at either of those births to speak out publicly about it without patient consent. To avoid speaking out is not only respecting a law that we should ALL be grateful for and protect...but it is also acting ethically and refusing to get involved in politics when that isn't their job.

Just my thoughts on the issue, and a lot of the commentary. I agree the whole thing is weird...but people need to approach this issue a little more common sensically.

We have a right to know because Sarah Palin has used her family and motherhood (particularly that of Trig) as a political qualification, so I examine that as closely as any other qualification and part of her record. If she would have kept her kids at home, not thrown her daughter under the bus, and not dragged them on every campaign rally stage, they would have their privacy. She used her motherhood because she had nothing else to run on...no pipeline, no thanks but no thanks, no nothing, except for some wealth redistrubution from oil comapnies. Her own citizens are freezing, her budget is a mess, and she's spending her day having a pity party. I could go on. Until she comes out and says explicitally that she will not run for president in 2012, she is under the microscope.

Even now that she is no longer a VP candidate, she has kept herself in the national spotlight by doing interview after interview with her family or making her family a huge part of it....she will not keep her mouth shut and do the job she was elected by the people of Alaska to do. Her state is facing some very daunting issues right now, and she blabs on and on about she is not being treated fairly, etc. It's time for her to put up or shut up.

I am a private citizen...I am not a governor of a state....sorry, but maybe she should have blinked when McCain came a callin'. When you are an elected official, everything is fair game...it's part of the package. She can't take criticism, and when you are a poltician that is part of the territory. She should have thought about her family first...she's got alot of skeletons in that closet of hers.

  14. Check out Andrew Halcro's latest on how Sarah Palin functions as governor. Quite telling. I wonder how long it will be before other members of Palin's cabinet start talking to reporters about the shenanigans going on in her office.

FW said "hen you are an elected official, everything is fair game...it's part of the package."

Odd but I remember when Mrs Obama was under attack for her statement during the elections, Ah-ah-ahbama said "If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful because that I find unacceptable, the notion that you start attacking my wife or my family. These folks should lay off my wife."

And oddly the MSM and all of the left wing were in agreement, but all of the sudden the rules change for one person?

Sorry but Homey don't play that game!

Nope, I agree, if Michelle Obama makes a public statement to the media or in a speech on her husband's behalf it is fair game for public scrutiny. Obviously that was a mistake she didn't make again, and both she and Obama were very careful when speaking about the kids, and they only brought them onstage a handful of times. They were in school in Chicago after September where they should have been, something Sarah should have done too.

Obama and Biden did not run as the "conservative pro-America family values" candidates from small towns....they ran as leaders who wanted to fix the problems that Bush and Cheney got us into. Nice family values ticket with McCain who cheated on his wife and married his adultress, and Sarah with her pregnant teenage daughter, drug addicted juvenile offender son, and drug dealing baby daddy's mama. Nice.....
