Pearls of "wisdom" from the book "Trailblazer: An Intimate Biography of Sarah Palin".

Sarah would try to play down her looks, telling Vogue magazine in a 2007 interview that she tried "to be as frumpy as I could by wearing my hair on top of my head and these schoolmarm glasses. I wish they'd stick to the issues instead of discussing my black go-go boots." (Chapter Two, pg. 26)

You know I may not be an expert on fashion or public relation, but it dawns on me that if you don't want the press to discuss your "go-go boots" that it might help to STOP WEARING THEM!

Or is that too logical?

Now let me take a moment to vent.

I am up to chapter four in this "book" and it is mind numbingly bad. There are typos, and run on sentences, and fluff, and lies, and....well I could go on and on.

But I am going to finish it, if it kills me. And if any book could shorten your lifespan it is this one.

I have received some comments from visitors asking me to just skip ahead to the "good" parts. However I can say without equivocation that there are no "good" parts. If they mean the more scandalous parts, well I am sorry but I am somebody who believes you must read a book from start to finish and that is what I am going to do.

God help me.

  1. Typical Sarah BS. Downplaying her looks? Women who are downplaying their looks pull their hair back, they don't tease it and pile it up on their heads, and they don't wear long, dangling earrings that are appropriate only in a bar in a professional setting. She deliberately goes for the "sexy librarian" look, and the FM boots with short skirts are a big part of it. And don't get me started on the Paris Hiltonesque high, high heels she wears on stage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but she's only started wearing her hair up in the last ten years or so, when gravity started pulling at her face, because upswept hair makes a woman look younger (like short hair, but short hair isn't sexy). And once the GOP gave her all that botox in early September, she started wearing it down again.

Grrrr. Can't someone make this woman go away. Far, far away. She really thinks she can be president!

Gryphen, have you seen this Sam Stein story on Palin's per diems? She even charged the state of AK per diems when she spoke to Fox News!

    "School Marm" Glasses?

More Palin BS and lies. The ones she wears when she was campaigning- and that she wears when being interviewed- are Kazuo Kawasaki designer glasses- that start at $375 and with lenses can run to $700. They are completely rimless. It appears she wears her older ones- rims on top and probably cheaper- at other times.

Sorry, Sarah- school marms can't afford $700 glasses.

Okay, I'll be patient and wait for you to finish reading the book. I read magazines back to front and sometimes have dessert for dinner. I think I lack a sense of order.

Sounds to me like she might have been the shadow-writer for this book, LOL!

I was wondering that too, about the old man behind her. Is she paying for a body guard charging it to the state of alaska??? It would be nice to know who he is.

  12. wait...remember those reports about the book deal? like $10 million? and then her PAC was announced. and that same week she said, "no, there's no book deal". and now there's a couple of weeks after that, here's a book..."unauthorized" of course. a little press release from Meg Stapleton to throw off the scent...this is her book, my friends. this is her money. watch the funds start to trickle into her PAC...mark my words.

That sounds like she wrote it herself!

Thanks Gryphen, for reading it. If I did, I'd no doubt rip out all my hair before I go through the first chapter!

"You know I may not be an expert on fashion or public relation, but it dawns on me that if you don't want the press to discuss your "go-go boots" that it might help to STOP WEARING THEM!"

This is getting perilously close to a different refrain used in regards to a woman's choice of clothing: "Gosh! Wearing a skirt like that, no wonder she was raped!"
