Okay Matt I am just screwing with you a little here.
I know that it is customary for candidates to visit influential churches as it is a good opportunity to find an attentive audience of potential voters.
But this smacks a little of political pandering.
It is also important to remember that a certain Alaskan politician made national headlines when SHE received a blessing from HER church.
You do remember this don't you?
Unfortunately Mr. Claman, Palin poisoned the well when it comes to obtaining the blessing of a church to help win an election. (Not that such a thing should EVER have been sought out by a serious politician.)
You know, this really doesn't get old...it's almost as good as Bush's Iraq shoe throwing debacle, and Sarah's Katie Couric interview.

ReplyDeleteI do not know Mr. Claman or anything about him, and I do not like Sarah Palin at all. However, I must say that it is not at all uncommon for a Christian person to receive prayer from Christian groups or individuals when he is beginning a new job, experience, or mission. If I were going to hold a political position or start a new job somewhere, I would ask my friends at church to pray for me. It is what Christians do.
