Mayoral hopeful Matt Claman, struggling in the polls, decides to ask God for a shout out. Hey now is that fair?

Please join us on Sunday March 15 in blessing Anchorage Mayor Matt Claman. The mayor and his wife will be with us during the 9:30 AM service.

We will pray for the Mayor and his family and present him with a plaque, and flowers for his wife and some small gifts for their children.

Okay Matt I am just screwing with you a little here.

I know that it is customary for candidates to visit influential churches as it is a good opportunity to find an attentive audience of potential voters.

But this smacks a little of political pandering.

It is also important to remember that a certain Alaskan politician made national headlines when SHE received a blessing from HER church.

You do remember this don't you?

Unfortunately Mr. Claman, Palin poisoned the well when it comes to obtaining the blessing of a church to help win an election. (Not that such a thing should EVER have been sought out by a serious politician.)

You know, this really doesn't get old...it's almost as good as Bush's Iraq shoe throwing debacle, and Sarah's Katie Couric interview.

I just can't believe people who actually watched this would have ever voted for McCain/Palin. Did this ever surface when she was running for governor?

I saw a lot of women blessing Walt Monegan this week. But that was for something that he DID.

  5. I do not know Mr. Claman or anything about him, and I do not like Sarah Palin at all. However, I must say that it is not at all uncommon for a Christian person to receive prayer from Christian groups or individuals when he is beginning a new job, experience, or mission. If I were going to hold a political position or start a new job somewhere, I would ask my friends at church to pray for me. It is what Christians do.

Are we to assume that this had witch protection thrown in, or does he need a separate ceremony for that?

Truth...prayer, yes...a good thing, praying to abolish all forms of withcraft, just plain nutty.

  8. Anonymous---I was referring to prayer for Mr. Claman. : ) Sarah Palin's behavior does not reflect a Christian heart. : (

  9. Maybe Pastor Hoodoo should have bucked her up in the name of Jesus before every interview she did last fall. She definitely could have used some divine intervention.

In fact, why didn't she just ask jesus to make her sound brilliant? Or maybe she did, and Sarah's complete washout was because Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson are really....SATAN????
